oh dude yes! George RR Martin is, of course, the most unnecessary food describer. never have I craved a rasher of bacon and a heel of black bread more than when he describes it.

you too! you're definitely a name I recognize and I like seeing 'cause it's like "oh hey I know them!" as this place gets bigger there'll be less of that but I hope I'll always notice the same names.

the other two hit the primary points but a third one is sometimes cis people do try HRT but they'll usually develop dysphoria right away and drop it. which is kind of my point.

I'm trans and I've been transitioning but I'm only out to my friends, my family, and some of my partner's family. I work remotely so hiding it from work isn't hard but my coworkers are all very conservative (allegedly they played "spot the tranny" during lunch one day and my friend in the office vented to me) and I want my voice to be better/more consistent anyways.

He may have some opinions you don't agree with, but the hatred I'm seeing is a bit much.

oh man that label is super meaningless. here used to be a PC party that truly was progressive but they eventually merged with a more conservative party and really she'd that progressive mandate.

some context if you're not familiar with Ontario/Canadian politics:

    • there's an election on Thursday (June 7th) for the Ontario provincial government
    • Kathleen Wynne of the Ontario Liberals has run the party since 2013 and she's seen two wins. her first was a minority government (where you have the most seats but not more than 50%) and then a majority government.
    • Wynne's Liberals won 53 seats last election and projections show them winning 1 this election
    • it's now a toss up between the New Democratic Party and the Progressive Conservatives (headed up by Andrea Horwath and Doug Ford respectively)
    • here's a political compass from CBC to help demonstrate where the parties sit
