How would you describe this person?
Seeing as we're still a small community, I see a lot of familiar faces in every thread.
So if you want to know what other people noticed about you, comment on this post. And reply to others with description of them. I'll try to be active here for several hours also.
I know you made a poll that I got some fun out of. Plus that host you used has the smoothest and best-designed survey layout that I've seen. Feels like every survey I fill out for stuff at my university is just trying to look as awful and unfocused as possible.
Oh yeah, a whole lot of Qualtrics surveys (it's interesting to me that to a lot of the professors here, "Qualtrics" works as a generic name for a survey like "Kleenex" is for tissues) and some other thing that I think is university-managed and awful.
I know you wanted to change your username, because you missed the chance to get @Kat. As for personality, you seem like a friendly and active person. Sorry, that's all that comes to mind.
Congrats!
Welcome to the early bird club, pal!
The contact I've had with you most recently was in the survey thread, as I recall?
High EQ, graceful host, interested in statistics/demographics.
EQ is like IQ, only for the emotional spectrum. :)
I hear you on the data mining front. Although there are quite a few info spelunking and analyzing jobs in civil service where they don't sell the info. I always felt like the cubicle undead, though.
I'm assuming your interest in people translates to caring about people. Caring about privacy also translates to caring about people, imo. Or at the very least it shows you have a conscience.
You're exactly the kind of person who should get that job, then find allies in the industry to fight the beast from within.
I definitely remember you from the survey 😀
Even though it didn't include some questions I was expecting, I enjoyed taking it. Looking forward to another one down the line.
I get the feeling anyone who remembers me probably doesn't have the most positive impression...but I am still curious.
You're the guy who got their username changed! I've seen you around the site a fair bit. You seem nice!
person
You often write long posts and talk about things that are important to the site. I don't see why caring about this community is in any way bad.
I remember you mostly from the discussion of bad posting behaviour. My impression is that you are an up front person. You're not confrontational, but also not afraid to hold your stance firmly.
You seem like a decent guy and I like your new username.
Very passionate about your beliefs. I admire the energy and emotion you have for things you care about. I also admire your respect for justice, even when the rules or an authority seems to be in the way of that.
Well I was a member of /r/CenturyClub for 3.5 years before I deleted my main account and I felt like I was annoying always talking about my life issues. Suicide attempts in 2015, family leaving me, wife ghosting me, developing PTSD and nightmares, not being able to get insurance here in the state of Oklahoma (and that story is long and it makes me angry for WHY), which means I can't see the right doctors to treat me so I can qualify for disability benefits... and I'm doing it again here. I think that is the takeaway when people interact with me. I want to be better, I really do.
Someone do me!
You're ... half deaf? But selectively.
I'm almost completely deaf on one side.
Now I think of you as only a truth teller.
I can roll with that ;)
I bet you can't describe me.
I'll give it a wild stab in the dark! Early 20's, university or other tertiary education student. From the commonwealth or Europe. Somewhat of a hipster. Tendency toward neat attire. :)
If we forget that you stretched your guesses, that's pretty spot on.
Gumby is my role model! ;)
I am pretty general, considering my username :D But I'd like to be associated with the site, I'd be a local celebrity!
Memorable username helps! Yours is certainly that.
Well, at least someone has high hopes for me! Thanks!
I'm down
You seem like the kind of person who'd stick to a bad joke.
Got me in 1 lol
Erm. We seem to run around in entirely different areas! But you seem to like to read, and sometimes have inertia. Is it mostly spec fiction, or a little bit of everything?
I'll read mostly anything, but I prefer scifi/fantasy and non-fiction stuff (usually history and crime )
I hope it's not that I use commas too much/wrong..
I remember that you're vegan! My cousin and aunt are vegan - my aunt for health reasons and my cousin for the same reasons you are.
I often cook things to take over when I visit. Do you have any favourite recipes to recommend?
It's more vegitarian than vegan because of my heapings of cheese I keep getting lured into. I've found jalapeno red Leicester recently too so it'll be hard cutting that down.
Sometimes I even add chorizo/baconbits whenever I've got a craving for that stuff so I'm certainly a cheater. But meat has been cut down to basically condiment usage so I'm 80% vegiterian maybe?
Unfortunately I don't really have much int he way of recepies since I'm just slapping things together from the store.

These are probably the ones I get most often, and I just whop most things into a burger/wrap with other crunchy greens. Or I just get some creamy mash potatoes and douse everything in parsley sauce if i was feeling frisky when walking past it at the store.
We both posted in the practicing English thread. I...don't think that English is your first language though? Not sure on that one! If not, huge kudos for your fluency. I'm still in the "I like food!" phase of my second language.
I'm guessing that you enjoy watching conversations unfurl. You usually post just enough to keep the conversation going. You often clarify points and ask insightful questions that lead the conversation along. You're tactful and like to see people be themselves.
I've noticed you! I have a mildly positive emotion associated with your username. That's all, sorry! xD
I have a bad feeling about me haha
Like "Slime" but heavier on the backend of the alphabet. Don't feel too bad about it. Slime mold can be very smart! It finds the most efficient paths to get to new food on.
You've got that sick DeviantArt picture! Didn't see you anywhere else, though, sorry!
Why not?
I'm pretty sure we were part of some of the same political conversations but I don't remember if we agreed or not...
I think I may have that effect on people.
Passionate about what's going on in today's political climate. Bold about your opinions, but incredibly well-read to back everything up. I can't say much about the actual content of your opinions since I'm a politically clueless teen, but the constant skepticism and critical thinking is incredibly refreshing, and something I could definitely stand to learn from myself!
Thanks! I think I'm more curious than passionate about most things (but talk to me about physician assisted suicide, and I might foam at the mouth a little--I'm told that's just a side effect of certainty rabies. Just like the regular rabies, except you're bitten by certainty).
Definitely a political thinker. I'm gonna guess a peaceful activist, open mind but firm in your beliefs. You've been active in political discussions for a long time and I would guess a lot of moderator experience in your past.
You're my Tildes clinton-campaign friend. :D
I would describe you as thoughtful, diplomatic, and intelligent. Also eloquent and fond of writing. ;)
Somewhat of a lurker
Friendly, playful, clever, honest. You seem like you would be a good friend.
I'm curious sign me up
Come at me!
Computing! And computing, and lots of computing. A delight in precision and elegant design. A distaste for compromising on objectives for the sake of commercialism or laziness. High work ethic.
Hey, I'm keen!
I first crossed threads with you in the Where are you from discussion. That's when my brain went "!!!!!! Yay a Kiwi!" Sorry for that; the first job I ever had in concessions gave me a lot of coworkers from NZ for some reason. Even now in a customer service situation that accent pops out. Are you part Maori?
You seem gregarious and extremely positive. Eclectic pastimes, and a willingness to enjoy life~
I am an open book. XD But I tend to post in feasts and famines, so I'm curious as to people's impressions~
Your a creative person who dabbles in a lot if different things. Collector probably and a people observer.
You're the one who uses a lot of traditional smilies like (XD) and you I think pushed for ~creative?
Yup! I'm a smiley-holic. No one else seems to use them much here...I may have to go into rehab for the habit.
I'm extremely thankful that ~creative was made. It's where I start and end my ~ rounds. ~CREATORS UNITE!
I totally know you! You make awesome art and you seem so good-natured and inclusive! I'm sure you're lots of other things, but from what I've seen you're a gracious badass!
Go on then.
You like walls of text.
Oof.
Yes.
And yet, in this thread, you're straight to the point.
Now I'm self conscious!
I guess a redditor for a long time. Your deeply involved in the direction of time as and you care about the community. Also a CD Project Red fan.
I remember your name because I thought it was a Nixon reference at first, but then I realized that no of course it's not.
Besides, that's more of an arrroOoOoOoOoO
This could be interesting :)
I don't post very often.
I enjoyed your programming challenge responses and I instantly like anyone with a username of three lowercase letters.
~Comp is a mysterious and unfathomable place to me. Looking at your recent post history, I don't even understand 90% of what you said! So all I have to go off of is your writing tone...
Except you haven't written enough...
Okay! I'm going to guess that while you enjoy people you are an introvert. You prefer to create more than converse. You don't say much but when you do it's solid. Same thing with compliments or kudos - bubbling over with them is meaningless, but when you do finally compliment someone you really mean it.
To be fair, the code he has written is intentionally difficult to read.
You're good at Python and have sick ricing skills.
I just joined! So hello, guys.
Go introduce yerself! There's a thread for that kicking around.
I comment rarely, but this might be interesting.
I remember that you started foruming when it was still bulletin boards, hence your name. (Not that I know what bbs are. Nope. Totally not going there...) XD
You have a family that you road trip with. You enjoy them but sometimes get exasperated with the conflicts that come from lots of "togetherness". This is something I sympathise with, having once been stuck in a 26 foot long RV with 9 other people for six weeks of travel. The only reason we didn't kill each other was because we stopped at every single used bookstore within miles.
Which bring me to books. You're a bibliophile, and half griffy and half raven. My guess is you love the peace, elegance, and knowledge of studying and reading, but when push comes to shove you take of your peeps.
Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.
Well, almost. Everything but the last paragraph really. That one is correct, exept for the word "studying". I like learning, but studying is a chore.
My name comes from my actual name, Bence. When I was 10 or so I wanted to join some site, but "Bence" was taken, so I added 1s until it worked. Later some place had "Bence1111" taken so I added Bs. Now I use it.
My family situation is not something for this board, but if I ever said anything that even remotely suggested that, point me there so I can correct it.
My apologies! Perhaps it's a different sort of talent to be entirely opposite. XD
I did not mean to offend; I was just projecting from my own experiences. Perhaps my understanding of this thread as a game is faulty.
It's a meme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sRS1dwCotw :D
Also, if I'll ever get offended by something you'll probably know by the short essay dedicated to insulting themthat I'd undoubtedly write up :)
Anyone have any opinions about me?
You're the absolute hoopiest of froods!
The highest compliment
I am so used to ZaphodBeeblebrox being taken that I default to adding an extra b. I realized I don't need to do so here, but it just felt wrong to not have it at this point.
Insufficient towels. Soon to be pressing a button I'd rather not be pressed.
I remember you're one of the few conservative-leaning users on that quiz, and that I know I've seen you around a few times. I do concur that you've got good taste in books.
Let's hear it, trying to procrastinate on studying right now.
oh this should be fun!
it's fucked up how accurate a lot of that was.
but I am trans, you got that right! and thanks, no one's complimented me on my name before!
you too! you're definitely a name I recognize and I like seeing 'cause it's like "oh hey I know them!" as this place gets bigger there'll be less of that but I hope I'll always notice the same names.
I usually comes out as an asshole even if I really try not to. So bring it on :P
Umm, Italian guy living in Germany?, maybe tech related, interested in politics but disconnected and with some backstory about religion you didn't feel like talking about.
My memory of the times I've seen you is not 100% clear, but I'd say thoughtful, diplomatic, reasonable. Someone i would want on my side in a dispute (or heck, even on the other side since i know you'd probably be a straight shooter).
Boopidoops! I'm down!
No one knows me because I'm not active enough.
I remember you play on Wynncraft! I commented all that negative junk on your post which was probably not ideal!
So I'm going to infer from that that you're young, creative, above-average intelligence (at least), enjoy adventure and exploring... and possibly enjoy grinding for levels or something. xD
Oh! Do me!
All i remember is you're into anarcho-communism... i think? xD
u got me way wrong. At least on the anarcho part
damnit! I thought you said something about being in the bottom-left of the political compass thing in that other thread. xD
Ah well. At least I tried. :P
oh! you remembered right, i didn't realize that was what you were talking about! i'm just not an anarchist lmao
ahh okay. i guess i assumed the far bottom of the compass was anarchism. :P anyway, i remember more now, you were on my trump post - i appreciated the way you helped express in very clear terms the perspective of people who are anti-trump about trump supporters. I don't remember if I thanked you then or not, so, thank you for that.
Just posting 'cause curiosity.
lol, that's certainly imaginative. Thank you.
I'm up for it.
This has me really interested. I've always wondered what other people online think of me. If anyone is willing, I'd love to hear what you've got to say!
considering ive mostly been talking about gender stuff i guess that's probably how im recognized if at all
was thinking of starting a league and/or dota thread in ~gaming and never leaving the thread from that point onwards
I need to work on being a better person and I need to work on getting my act together and maintaining a routine. I'm not lazy, and I don't mind work by any means. But I let a lot of things just go that I probably shouldn't just because I lack of proper routine. I always tell myself to do a little bit here and there but I never do. It depends what it is. I keep my property up around my house pretty well. Well I just bought the place in October so I'm doing a lot of cleanup from neglect but I'm not really taking one thing, completing that, then moving on. I'm doing a little bit here and there to get things maintainable. But in my day-to-day life like cleaning the house, doing the dishes laundry, all that. I really need to maintain a routine. My meal routine is non existent. And I don't get up as early as I should in the mornings.
this worked for me when i actually wanted to wake up earlier: https://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/04/how-to-get-up-right-away-when-your-alarm-goes-off/
The problem was when i had conflicting desires - I want to wake up early for X reasons, and i want to stay up late for Y reasons.
Thank you. I will read it now.
The username makes me kind of obvious, but sure - go ahead.
I trust everyone is doing this honourably. It'd be very easy just to have a peek at their comment history.
I remember you from when I first joined, waaaay back a week and a half ago. ;-)! You seem very enthusiastic and kind. You jumped right in and started doing your part to help ~ out with conversations and content.
I don't think anyone remembers me, especially since I just changed my username!
Hey thanks :)
There are still people responding to the threads I started - way more than I can keep up with. I try to remember to sign my name on my comments so that people feel more like they're having a conversation with a person, rather than an opinionated block of text.
Â
Did I talk to you at all under your old username?
Â
-LTADnD
Umm, not much, I don't think. I was lirtep; I've posted a fair amount and most notably the "Where are you from?" thread in ~talk. :-)
I dunno if I've posted enough to be seen but I certainly find myself amicable
I highly doubt it but I will be very impressed if anyone actually remembers me.
I seem to remember you got your username changed, that's all I got for now
I remember you: I helped you get your username changed! But I think that's been our only interaction so far, so that's all I remember.
I meant to thank you for that! If anyones interested, @Deimos seems pretty chill about changing usernames.
You got that name change and I've been grinning when I see your name ever since.
I'd be interested to know. Go for it.
You’re canadian, have a variety of different interests spanning video games to books. You can cook? You’re quite knowledgeable about your country and you love podcasts!
Me next! I wonder if i’ve built up enough to have an interesting description
I'm curious if I've said enough to get anything other than "music person."
Yeah, @gleb, I remember that no one can spell your name, @gueleb. But I haven't seen you around, @clep.
Mostly a lurker, but let's give it a shot! <3
A lover of words, doesn't discriminate based on what language the words come in.
@acrid clearly likes Indie and alternative music. Especially the song consolation prizes by Phoenix. And the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Oh wait that's me.
If anyone recognises me already then I've been procrastinating too much
I'm new and haven't been ultra-active, but sure, I'll see if anyone recognizes
I've made all of four comments, I think, so come at me!
