How was your weekend?
Good morning everyone! It's Monday morning and the weekend is over. How is everyone doing today? How was your weekend and is there anything you're looking forward to this week?
I did a post like this last Friday and people seemed to like it. After talking to @PBuddy I decided to do posts like this at the beginning and end of the week to see if we can get people familiar with each other. I love Tildes but it's too new and too spread out for a small communities to start like you'd see in some subreddits. Let me know what you think!
Great! I installed a new dishwasher in my house. Played with the kids outside. Went and saw the new Solo movie (which was awesome).
I really need to see that this week. I haven't heard a bad thing about it yet!
Definitely an enjoyable film, I personally enjoy the self contained stories.
Spent the weekend with about 14 friends at my family's cottage in semi-northern michigan. lots of drinks, lots of jello shots, lots of fun. We've all graduated college now and have started to move off and do our own things, and it was really nice to have everyone together again. Probably gonna try to make it a yearly thing.
I really enjoy my quasi-yearly get together with my old college roommates, I highly recommend keeping it up.
I had a bunch of rainwater coming in from around the window.
Damn condo association is dragging their feet in cleaning out the gutters.
Aw damn sorry to hear that. You aren't joking about them dragging their feet if it's getting that bad.
They said they were going to try to get someone out Friday, and if not, definitely Saturday.
They still haven't come out.
Busy as fuck. Saturday was my friend's kid's 2nd bday party. They had a small animal petting zoo! Bunnies and ducks and pigs and goats, oh my! Then I saw Solo again (great SW movie IMO). Then I was supposed to go see a great DnB DJ, but got a migraine and had to skip the show. :(
Sunday I hiked 9 miles (woot 1400 calories burned!). I visited a friend that was in from out of town. We went swimming at a local, spring fed pool. Great way to beat the heat! Then I went on a date. We went to a tea house I had been wanting to try and it was amazing. Had a lovely time with the date, but ultimately she decided that she did not want to pursue a romantic relationship. Which is fair, my love life is pretty complicated right now and I don't blame her at all.
Holy moly that's a lot of hiking. Glad you survived, sorry about the date, sometimes it's just not the right time, and that's ok :)
My situation is really complicated so I totally understand why she didn't want to get involved. Poly problems, lol.
Had an excellent Pokemon Go outing on Saturday. In ~an hour and a half, girlfriend and I got 2 latias, 2 ho-ohs, and an absol (our first for all 3). The community in our area is great, had a group of around 10 that we mostly had met and raided with before.
Girlfriend got a shiny 100% Ho-oh, too, which is probably the luckiest find either of us have gotten
I really wish Pokemon Go was still popular around me. It was so much fun when it first came out but it died pretty quick. I'm hoping the new games coming out will bring it back.
Hey, my weekend was Ok, I mostly just got work done and sent out a few job applications, but nothing too special. Summer is coming after all so I'm mostly just relaxing for now. This Monday has started off good as well, I didn't have to go to school, and I finally got an invite code to the website, so I have that going for me. I'm excited to see where this website takes me!
Well welcome to Tildes! I just got invited off the last wave myself and it's been a lot of fun on here.
Thanks! I've already been noticing a bunch of recurring people, which is weird because I've never been part of a small community. I hope I get to meet everyone!
My friend graduated on Friday so me and my friends spent the night celebrating with him. Saturday I was sick and tired, Sunday I was sick and tired.
Good weekend though, Friday made up for the other not so great days.
I played D&D on Saturday, which was nice. Other than that, I had the tail end of a cold on Sunday, which had me coughing constantly.
I'm jealous of the DnD. My group has skipped our 3 or 4 sessions and it's driving me crazy! Are you a pc or dm?
I was the DM in our previous campaign, but I was not that good at it. Another person became the DM for the campaign we started a few weeks ago, and he is much better at it. I hope that you can get more sessions in soon.
I had a pretty decent weekend. I mowed the lawns, tilled the gardens, went to a (plant) nursery, bought the stuff for a garden, and watched my wife and kids plant a bunch of things.
I also played a bunch of Shadow of Mordor, which I thoroughly enjoy. I will probably play some more tonight.
This weekend was great for me, we had a baby shower on Saturday at the in-laws house and came home with a truck full of baby stuff. Gotta love free stuff!
Busy. My cousin got her RN so we celebrated that one friday. Found out my wife's cousin had a head injury playing rugby, fractured his skull, so we visited him in the hospital (he's going to be ok). Put a roof rack on my car, went shopping for building materials and started putting trim up on a room we are renovating into a nursey (almost done, just gotta build the dresser/change table and put up some shelves)
I painted about half my kitchen a beautiful new bright green, and got the one wall that has oil paint on it patched and primed so that I can paint that over the next couple evenings!
My favourite houseplant is looking very sad and sick, and I'm not sure why. I'm sort of bad at houseplants, but this one has always done quite well, and even seemed happy in its spot for the last 10 months or so, but I wonder if our hot spring might have been too much for it - we only bought our house in august last year, so it might have been a bit cooler until now. I clipped it back and have moved it away from the intense light, and hopefully it bounces back - I might re-pot it tonight too.
Ooh that oil paint sounds like it would be a pain to seal. I hope you're enjoying how it's turning out. I just repainted my house not long ago and it's crazy how much a new paint job can change a kitchen. Good luck with the plant because I've learned I can only handle succulents. Everything else won't last a week in my hands.
Well, my car's radiator blew last Saturday, but I was able to fix it myself the next day for less than $100 total, so not too bad.
