Educational calm content
Do you know any other playlists list like Absolutely understand guitar or The Secret Life of Machines?
Basically any Bob Ross like content of a person calmly teaching a topic.
I find some of this content through archive.org, but their search is not the best.
By sheer coincidence I just found this channel called Pedal & Paint: https://youtube.com/@duttonart?si=eh6kIbvxLcGQFIyD
Not exactly Bob Ross style, but it has calm and cozy videos of someone going around pretty landscapes and watercolor painting.
I got you!
The Crafsman is super relaxing and educational if you are into making action figures/kit bashing/making music/just being creative. I do none of these things but I love his channel and have been following him for years.
I like The Crafsman! He's definitely got a Bob Ross vibe, and I wish I could craft on his level.
I've recently discovered Stated Clearly thanks to his ongoing series about the evolution of the flagellum. His videos are quite educational, and also great to fall asleep to, which is very useful for me.
How it's Made is a TV show that showed how different products were manufactured. I always found them super interesting and they're very chill. Not sure where to watch them now though - looks like all 32 seasons are on the Roku channel
But your options may vary - Just Watch
A lot of them are available on the Science Channel's YouTube channel. Though I'm not certain on availability outside of US and Canada. They aren't organized by season though.
Many of The New Yankee Workshop episodes have been upscaled and are available for free. Norm Abrams is a master carpenter and his teaching style is quite a bit like Bob Ross, very calm and relaxed, just with wood. And safety.
This might not be up your alley as it's science related and not art, but 3 Blue 1 Brown is a phenomenal math presenter. None of his videos feel like lectures, he has a great way with visuals and distilling complex subjects down for non-math people in a very calm, pleasing manner.
