I love cigar, pipes, etc. Last time our group played poker, my best friend smoked so many cigars he lost the sense of taste for two weeks. He didn't have any class, smoking fine cigars one after another like cheap cigarettes and blowing smoke into soda bottles. He didn't deserve my expensive tobacco :(

I was going to finish mowing our 5+ acres, which hasn't been bushwhacked properly in 3 years. I've gotten it about 80% of the way done. I was finishing up one of the hairier areas an hour ago when my tractor discovered a wonderful pit of quicksand and embedded itself in seconds. I can't lift it out because all that does is make my boots sink a half meter into clay mud. Bonus, one of the supports for the mower deck broke off from the pressure, so I've got a nice welding job on my hands if I can get the mower out. I expect I'll have to wait for friends to come over this weekend to get it out of there.
So, I'm contenting myself with taking a chainsaw to every low branch on every tree I can reach and cutting up four downed trees that are still laying around. Chainsaws are a wonderful way to get rid of aggression. I picked a fine week to quit smoking. I have bottomless nicotine-deprived rage on my hands right now. Great fuel for yard work. I hope it goes away soon or they'll be finding me dead of a heart attack sometime next week.
Ah, busy day. Worst of the smoking withdrawal is over. The downed trees are toast, nephew has another half cord of free firewood. Tractor is fixed, mowing is almost completed. There's an acre of...
Ah, busy day. Worst of the smoking withdrawal is over. The downed trees are toast, nephew has another half cord of free firewood. Tractor is fixed, mowing is almost completed. There's an acre of tall grass left shot through like a pollinator's paradise with goldenrod, milkweed, thistle, bee balm, knapweed, etc. I just don't have the heart to cut it down until September. I was mowing around it today and there were so many butterflies and bumblebees and honeybees (wild ones!) that I'm not going to deprive them of their food supply.
I know how you feel with not wanting to disturb the pollinators. We have a bunch of wild vines growing all over the wrought-iron fence in our back yard that I need to pull down, but I have been...
I know how you feel with not wanting to disturb the pollinators. We have a bunch of wild vines growing all over the wrought-iron fence in our back yard that I need to pull down, but I have been holding off since it's flowering right now and attracting all sorts of beneficial critters. So I will probably end up wait until fall before I do it, even though it's a PITA to mow near it right now since they get in my face while walking past them.

Tomorrow I'm gonna try making a couple of recipes from this book I picked up yesterday and painting some baseboards black so they can dry, and then sunday I hope to trim my basement with the black baseboards so that our games room finally looks kind of done instead of torn apart! I painted it ages ago (probably march) and then we had some professional work done on our basement so everything has been poly-ed off forever!
Today I'll probably do some exercise of some sort. Monster of the week (pen and paper rpg) on Saturday. Up your alley (SF kink pride event) on Sunday. Just decided to purchase Fire Emblem 3 houses...

Just decided to purchase Fire Emblem 3 houses today despite having a large backlog. Might play that a bit too.
I'll try to go through a good portion of Colt Steele's WebDev Udemy course. Web development is not something I dream with, but a very motivational opportunity came up, $ if you know what I mean $.

Doing the last bit of packing before moving on the 5th, and making a bit more garb and helping my girlfriend do the same before going to Pennsic on Monday (or possibly Tuesday, we aren't quite sure). I need to finish my poofy viking pants and make my cloak.
I also now have everything I need to run my c-pap for a week with no electrical line.
I'm on my last few days of a 2 week trip to Japan. Im taking in pretty slow this weekend it's been a huge 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to my not so crowded home town.

I was told I'll be interviewing with the engineering team. I'm kind of intimidated, never did something like that before. Not sure how knowledgeable they expect me to be.

Except for tomorrow. My mom recently discovered she actually has a family, and the half-brother she got in contact with (my half-uncle) is coming down to visit. Family’s a sensitive issue for me, and I’m approaching this guy with caution, and I probably won’t spend more than an hour with him. But it’s nice to know that I do in fact have blood-related family beyond my immediate one.

Moving sadly. Going back to my old apartment and moving out of there and then spending the latter half of the weekend moving stuff into my new apartment.

3 x 24 packs of Coronas, and the Highschool homies. Should be a good time

I love cigars too ! My favorite is a padrone especial with a Mexican coke. I don’t think I could stomach more than one a night tho

At least the weather is nice. sigh

Watch the end of ESA Summer and try to not melt in this wretched heatwave. My wife and daughter are away tonight so it's very peaceful!

Ending sailing trip, speeding back to homebase, sleeping in own bed, taking real showers.

Lazy weekend planned, but on Monday I am taking the kid to see Hannibal Buress.
Sleeping in and showering, mostly. It's good to have some time to myself.
Saturday: Watching old MADtv sketches -> lifting weights -> finish reading The Divine Milieu -> watch UFC -> ?
Sunday: Watching old MADtv sketches -> give a guitar lesson -> ?

Working from the hotel here in sunny Abu Dhabi.
