What are some good Mobile Home Pages?
Recently, Mobile Chrome on Android gave the ability to set your own Homepage. I hate the default new tab page on Chrome and used Currently for my new tab please until that went under, and now I use Simple. Is there anything like either of those for mobile, or some other portal that you would prefer so I'm not mindlessly encouraged to go to commonly visited websites?
Yes, this will do nicely, it has a web version that works great. TY for introducing me to Tabliss.
Mine. It loads in a heartbeat even on the worst connections.
Nice. I was going to suggest vanilla DuckDuckGo, I guess this works too.
Can you point the homepage at a file on your phone? Because if so, you can just slap some HTML in there and roll your own. I did that for my laptop, putting a list of daily tasks on it, while also making it replace the usual blank new tab page.
In theory yes, but while I can send an HTML file from the files app to Chrome, it can't be opened from the bar or a bookmark, least as far as I checked.
If I remember correctly, you are able to access files from Chrome through the file:// URI. Just remember that you need a third slash for root. To access your phone's internal storage, file:///sdcard/ should work.
I just use the default start page in Firefox, set to have "Top sites" at the top and Pocket below.
Here's how it looks
I honestly thought home pages went out when Myspace went under... I haven't used a homepage for a long, long time, and haven't noticed the lack.
The omnibar is my homepage, and you just set that to whatever search engine you prefer. I open a web browser with intent, not to start thinking about what I am doing.
For a second I thought this was a request for webpages about mobile homes.
I wouldn't say no if you have a good one, but it's not what I'm looking for at the moment.
