What are you doing this week?

This topic is part of a weekly series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss their week.

If you have any plans, goals, accomplishments, or even failures, whether they be personal or work related, I'd love to hear about them. This is a place for casual discussion about your week, past, present, and future.

A list of all previous topics in this series can be found here.

So, what (or how) are you doing this week?

This week I'm going to prepare for the QA engineering internship I just got. It's outside the area of my formal education but I'll be learning a whole lot about some software tools.

Learning code for the first time! Been using codeacademy to learn some c++ and once I have the basics moving to c#. I want to get into game development for hobby projects.

I've heard that about c++. That's why I'm just learning the basics. From what I understand c# is based on c++, so my thinking was learn the skeleton a little to have a better understanding of the full body. Like drawing kinda. When I was doing that I took a basic anatomy course which helped quite a bit.

Not very far. Maybe like ~1 hour. It's alright, it will get me started. I'd like to see if there's anything else people can recommend for online courses. I've tried getting into coding before, but I didn't have the urge/patience to get past the first lesson. It's going better now that I'm willing/wanting to learn it.

Well to start off it will be super basic shapes moving on a screen and getting them to interact with each other. I like games that are relaxing to play with no stress/skill required really. Games like Animal Crossing, abzu, mini metro, and baba is you where you don't have to worry about much. There's no real threat, you're just kinda doing your own thing, you know? I'm not really into the big expansive open world games. They give me too much anxiety.

I'm getting stuck into a remote sensing assignment. I already did some processing of the landsat images in google earth engine (in javascript - a weird choice. Apparently python is available, but all the community discussion was in javascript, so I guess it's been around longer).
Now I've exported to python. I've already calculated a time-series NDVI index, next I want to try and classify with a sklearn supervised learning library.

After this weekend, keeping down food!

Either my Flu Shot had a side effect, I ate something bad, or Flu bug don't give a shit about no flu shot, but I said a prayer to the porcelain God yesterday, and spend today and probably a good chunk of tomorrow getting back to normal.

Also of note, I'm going to be testing out Digital Wellbeing's Chrome Filter, allowing you to set timers for as low as 0 minutes on certain websites. We will see how long I last.

EDIT: It doesn't work in Incognito Mode. Bit of an oversight, but I guess if it's not spying on you, it can't track where you're going.

Deliberating what to name our child. :-) We just found out today that we’re having a boy. I’m advocating for Obi-Wan or Jean-Luc.
