What did you do this weekend?
As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their weekend. Did you make any plans? Take a trip? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!
I moved to Spain from the UK over the weekend. Shipped my stuff ahead so it all arrived this morning. I spent most of the weekend cowering from the forty degree heat and trying to adapt to the change in environment.
The PC arrived ok, but the power button was broken. A few wire snips later and a bit of hotwiring and I'm back online.
Hope you all had a good one.
What made you move over there at this moment? Was it a personal or career choice?
It was the girlfriend. We both agreed it was a good time to get out of London. 48c here today though. Struggling with the heat a bit.
I celebrated my 27th year spent revolving around the Sun by ignoring phone calls, trying to not cry, skipping lunch, and having dinner at a nearby restaurant while feeling like crawling out of my skin because of how anxious large groups of people make me.
I had an appointment with a therapist this morning, though, so there's that.
I bought some games from the Steam sale. I got Two Points Hospital and Sunset Valley, so I'll soon be figuing out what all the hullabaloo was about.
Two Points Hospital is a delightful little goofy business manager sim. The graphics are fun, the fake afflictions are cute, and the whole thing is pretty enjoyable. I played the first four or five hospitals and then stopped, but it's something you can return to as well; it's very casual (which I list as a big positive) but still of interest enough to maintain interest for a while. I recommend against looking up any strategies and just figuring things out on your own for a while. Enjoy!
Internet went off for about half a day a few days ago in my neighborhood.
