Filled out my ballot for the 2020 election. I put it in the ballot drop box this morning!

I also did some crocheting for a baby blanket and will hopefully be finishing that mother fucker up and handing it of to my SIL. I'm sick of it lmao.

It hasn't been that bad really, just a lot of fairly tedious work with occasional frustration. I've been continuing watching The Sopranos while I do it, I'm partially through season 5 now. I haven't watched it before, and I don't know if I'd say that it lives up to the hype as one of the greatest shows of all time for me, but it's good.

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and a holiday, so our weekend isn't over yet, and the assembling continues. Also, I just looked outside and it's started snowing a little bit. That's the first time this year, but this is still quite early to have snow, so that's fun.

Not a damn thing and happy for it.

Had a mandatory three day weekend (my CEO gives us a paid Friday off each month since COVID hit just as a "you're not allowed to work, get off your computer" holiday). For the past two months every single weekend has involved friends/family or some other required task/gathering and I wasn't having it. The next few weekends will also have these engagements, so this weekend I elected to do nothing. I played some video games, spent time with only my wife, went out to dinner with only my wife, drank whiskey, and did a little organizing (but not actual work) on some of my own projects.

I like being busy, I like getting things done, I like working on my projects, I like seeing family and friends, but sometimes I just feel like not doing any of that and so that's what I did.

Oh, and I started on crocheting a sock!

My dish: baked brussel sprouts, mushrooms, shalLOTS (Ramsay voice) sautéed with some garlic over mashed potatoes and topped with vegan parmesan. Though, I regret not cooking with alcohol a la, uh.. Ramsay. Well, it was good! My first time attempting such a dish. Def being added to my repertoire.

Her dish: curry udon noodles with grilled tofu. Also, very good! Though, we didn't get to it much that night... I devoured it shortly after we said our good-byes.

Well, it was a a bit stressful in the run-up, but it all played out nicely and the weekend was pretty damn relaxing. Got to forget how shit everything currently is for a little bit, which is definitely a privilege I don't take for granted! (especially since it's now Monday and reality slaps me in the face.)

I switched my phone carrier to Ting to save a bunch of money. I barely use it as a phone anyway, so it made sense for me to minimize the expense on it, while still using T-Mobile for the service back-end.

I reclaimed my Switch from my brother (I wasn't using it, but neither was he), and integrated it into my computer with this capture box. I'm waiting on an assortment of angled HDMI adapters to come so I can improvise a 180-degree turnaround to route the cable behind the switch. I'm using MPC-BE to stream the video/audio to my screen, following this guide on Reddit, the main difference being I'm using a USB3 box, and I believe they used a PCI card.

I voted—my third election. Two ticks for the New Zealand Green Party, who will hopefully get above the 5% threshold to make it back into parliament and form a coalition government with our centre-left Labour Party, with Jacinda Ardern as Prime Minister.

Also voted yes on two referenda, the non-binding Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill, and the binding End of Life Choice Bill.
