TweetDeck replacements?

The only sane way to use Twitter was to follow a bunch of cool artists, set up TweetDeck, filter it to "tweets with images only", and just look at pretty pictures.

And now that's been completely removed. Does anyone know of any alternatives? I don't need any of the other features of TweetDeck, I just need that images-only filter...

No Twitter RSS :( I've taken to using a headless browser to dump the JSON for me.

As far as I know your options are currently limited to:

    • Paying for and using new TweetDeck
    • Learn to use Twitter's regular interface (and maybe modify it)
    • Hoping there's a relevant browser add-on that somehow turns the regular site into a TweetDeck-like experience despite Twitter's current auto-mutilation spree
    • Maybe Twitter still does RSS and you can hack something together yourself with an RSS-client?
    • Learn to let go of Twitter and find another way to scratch the same itch
    Stuff about Mastodon

Mastodon's web interface has an optional TweetDeck-like layout.

Woolly is a TweetDeck-like app for Mastodon for iOS.

For those more comfortable with Twitter's regular interface, there's https://elk.zone/, which is a Progressive Web App for Mastodon that looks and acts a lot like Twitter. Or you can use this style script: https://userstyles.org/styles/256364/twitter-like-mastodon

Thanks for breaking it down! While I would never pay for Twitter, even if I wanted to, this wouldn't solve the problem. They actually removed the ability to filter tweets with images in New Tweetdeck, which is just the TweetDeck beta. I was a user of Old TweetDeck and when the beta came out, I tried it, and went back to Old near-immediately because of this missing feature.

I've heard some good things about Mastodon. It may be time to consider jumping ship.

Pixelfed is a platform that can interact with Mastodon, and is dedicated to images. I’m sure you could find some cool artists there.

Also the minimal twitter extension seems to promote another service which I know I won't use, is there an option in settings to turn that off or do i have to block the promotions with ublock?

Sorry, I wasn't aware that minimal twitter thing also promoted a service. My bad. I don't use it myself. I don't know if you can block it.
