a $30-a-month price tag per user

Money that's going to go down the drain

“If you don’t have your data house in order, AI is going to be less valuable than it would be if it was,” he said. “You can’t just buy six units of AI and then magically change your business.”

This whole thing reminds me of weight loss drug supplement claims: if you eat right and drink lots of water and exercise and stop eating after 7pm and sleep 8 hours a day, plus use our miracle Supplement, AND don't you dare miss a month of auto-shipments, you'll start to see results in 8+ weeks.

The good thing is that companies spending a lot of money on this have the incentive to finally look at how their data is stored, how things are organized, who has access and maybe value the work their data pushers put in to running reports for them. Maybe.

I liked the gonzo takes from last week better, but this one is easier to share at workplaces. If you can't get the fundamentals right, AI isn't going to help you. Garbage in, garbage out. $30/user...

If you can't get the fundamentals right, AI isn't going to help you. Garbage in, garbage out. $30/user could be better spent on any number of other tools to help get the fundamentals right.

Exactly. And I mean it's 30 a user a month FOR NOW. Once these companies have sunk even more resources in, and once no human even understands how to do it anymore, what's stopping these companies...

The trick with data has always been how to easily get non garbage out. If it's going to take a ton of man hours of massaging to feed it in, you might as well just hire/retain data people to pull up everything you need quickly
