I was testing the Dev model earlier today on Replicate, and was extremely impressed. It seemed to fix all the issues introduced by Stable Diffusion 3. It has strong prompt adherence and has a great understanding of different styles. Definitely the best release since SDXL.
Image generation really is a lot of fun. I wish I had the hardware to play with either the Dev or Schnell versions locally. Hopefully there are quants coming to make these weights more viable on weaker consumer GPUs.
Excited to see what else Black Forest comes out with. Their staggered approach to licensing seems fair to me, and a little more realistic than what Stable Diffusion was doing. Hopefully they're able to strike that balance, and the commercial side can continue supporting the open side.
