Looking for a particular kind of computer speaker

so I need computer speakers that

  • are less than 6 inch high
  • either the left or right speaker has controls that allow me to
    • increase or decrease the volume
    • have 3.5 mm headphone port [optional]
    • button to power on/off [optional]
  • wired, either via 3.5 mm headphone jack or USB-C cable

I've tried looking for it but I am having a damn hard time trying to find something that fits all these.

I have some and they work fine when I use them, but I usually default to wired headphones so it would depend on your use case. They look nice and fit under the shelf on my desk, which was my primary requirement when speaker shopping

I'll second these. Dandy little speakers that certainly punch above their weight.

Depending on how strict the 6" requirement is, Bose's Companion 2 Series III meets basically all of the requirements except the height (being just under 8" or so) and they sound wonderful for the size and I think are worth the price (esp when on sale / used). They're also very narrow and not too big depth-wise either. They've lasted me for probably a decade at this point without any failures or problems. I know some audiophiles don't love Bose, but I enjoy this model in particular and think they sound like speakers 2x the size

A bit on the expensive side but seems to hit most of your marks are the Kantu YU2 Powered Speakers The knob for volume control and headphone jack is on the rear.

The Amazon basics brand are the ones I use. They are about 3.5 inches tall by my measurement, have an optional 3.5mm audio port, the control for volume/backlight/power/3.5mm jack is in the middle of the two, it's got the ability to be Bluetooth 5.3 if I want (but they're plugged into the headphone port of my fancy monitor, so they're just an audio option on all 3 computers via USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort) and the sound quality is pretty decent.

Honestly, they're pretty dang good little speakers and I used them to replace my old Creative Pebbles that kept rolling off my damn desk any time I bumped my desk (which is often.)
