I'm not trying to sound cynical when I ask this, but I'm curious and you'll need to be able to answer it: there are hundreds if not thousands of VPN services already, what will your selling point(s) be? Why would someone choose your VPN service over all of the other ones?
Hey so what's https://vpnvault.io/ ? It seems like your USA server is being provided by a 3rd party free VPN site? Also, you didn't ask me to sign an NDA or anything, but it seems like you don't...
It seems like your USA server is being provided by a 3rd party free VPN site?
Also, you didn't ask me to sign an NDA or anything, but it seems like you don't want details posted publicly. What am I allowed to say or not say in this thread?
Ok, well I'm not going to go posting about it anywhere else, but do you care how much I divulge in this thread? I feel it's a privacy concern if my data is being transmitted to any third party. I...
Ok, well I'm not going to go posting about it anywhere else, but do you care how much I divulge in this thread?
I feel it's a privacy concern if my data is being transmitted to any third party. I mean, that's the entire point of a VPN, no? Your privacy policy doesn't make it clear what data you transmit to third parties. You may be able to get me to trust your company, but I don't necessarily trust Yandex or Cloudflare or VPNVault.io.
gw-us-east.(yourdomain).com resolves to 168.62.51.121, which is VPNVault.io. The IP is owned by Microsoft, so I'm guessing it's probably an Azure instance. So, the reason I use a VPN is so I'm in...

So, the reason I use a VPN is so I'm in control of who sees my data. I feel this is the most important thing to look for in a VPN. I'd need to be really reassured that not only do YOU not collect logs, but Cloudflare, VPNVault, and Azure aren't collecting any logs as it seems my traffic passes through all these companies. I also feel weird about you collecting data about me through Yandex cookies. I really want my real life identity seperated from a VPN account in every way possible, so if you're collecting data on me via a Russian search engine, that creeps me out.
I'm think I'm going to have to pass on your service, and I can't recommend it to others at this time.
I get that, I understand that there'll be bugs and this is a very early beta. But, I think maybe you don't understand why this concerns me. Maybe you don't get your audience. Your target market is...
I get that, I understand that there'll be bugs and this is a very early beta. But, I think maybe you don't understand why this concerns me. Maybe you don't get your audience. Your target market is by definition concerned with privacy. Just because these practices are standard doesn't mean they're okay to do. It seems to run contrary to your mission statement about ISPs collecting logs. It sounds like "Do as we say, not as we do." and it cheapens your whole commitment to privacy, in my opinion.

The amount of weird half-answers you've given and your continued attempts to justify tracking despite your "No Tracking!!!™" platitudes in your "about us" section gives me enough reason not to trust your company.
You are digging yourself a deeper hole at this point. I believe I've expressed how bad your privacy problems are, but you refuse to acknowledge them, and you continue to tell me it's normal, I...
You are digging yourself a deeper hole at this point. I believe I've expressed how bad your privacy problems are, but you refuse to acknowledge them, and you continue to tell me it's normal, I should be using privacy badger, even against your own site, a site which is supposed to protect my privacy. You're telling us outright your site is so untrustworthy we must install addons to block your tracking if we want to use it.
Please stop, take a step back, consult with your friends, consult with other people. Ask them if what you're doing is evil or not. Ask them if they'd be willing to give up their personal info to international companies that track your every move. Then ask them if it's okay to tell them you're protecting their prvacy by doing so. Explain it to them in detail, see if anyone, anywhere is ever okay with this. I believe you'll find some opposition to this.
Please, gather a bunch of friends together for an evening, get them to trust you, ask them their personal secrets, ask them to divulge things they would never divulge to anyone else. It can be a theme night. Then, now that you know all their secrets, let them know five global companies have been recording this entire conversation and they might share this with anyone who pays them the most.
This is bad. Your idea of privacy is bad. Your company is off to a very, very bad start, in my opinion.

Also, I will add here what many other VPN companies are using the same analytics tools for marketing purposes.
Yes, but different VPN companies target different users. Most VPN services are “free” and earn by collecting pretty much all your data, unbeknownst to their users as their target users are just those who want to bypass region restrictions and such. But since your goal is to protect privacy, you should respect it. Just because others are doing it doesn’t change the fact that you’re invading our privacy.
That's why it's always good to use privacy badger no matter what website you are visiting.
Yes, it is, but that isn’t an excuse for you to collect data on us. I use Privacy Badger, and a lot more, but I simply don’t trust your service because of this. What you’re saying is like saying that the very websites and services you’re trying to protect us from are fine, respectable, and should be trusted, since you should be using a VPN and privacy extensions if you’re so concerned about privacy, anyway.
The bottom half of your reply is much better; not going to continue arguing on the part about extensions as @pseudolobster already said everything wrong about it. However, PIA and such anonymize...

I got an explanation from my system administration. He made that project in his free time and was testing some stuff there. He just made the wrong redirection for that IP address. Will be fixed soon.
I don't understand how you can make a mistake like this. One of your nodes is from someone else's VPN service? If this is the case then the OpenVPN client would not authenticate to the server since the client config includes the public key to your gateways. Does your VPN share its key with VPNVault?
I'd be interested. But for the sake of my safety I wouldn't provide you with organic traffic. I'd probably set it up in a VM and do some un-authenticated web browsing and a few network tests.

Well, I thought that you were shilling for Pure VPN or something, but after reading your comments...maybe not. I’m not in a position to be a beta tester for anything, but take my upvote.

I let my previous VPN service expire and have been shopping around. That is a prerequisite of mine, the UK server potential. What about IP addresses, will they be in a pool and used randomly or will a customer be assigned a static address? Sometimes certain websites take issue with the IP pools, and a customer can get assigned an IP previously used by a spammer.

I'm not tech savvy enough to warrant an invite (even though I use a VPN - IPVanish) but did want to wish you luck on the project. One thing I've liked about IPVanish is that it will find the fastest connection by selected geographic region or overall. Used to have tons of issues with previous VPNs going so slow (which is especially painful as someone with gig speeds), and IPVanish has alleviated them for the most part. What does your VPN offer in this department? What is your expected pricing structure?
If you are still looking for testers I'd like to give it a shot, have been looking for a decent VPN recently. Can you give me more info on your policies / how you plan to monetize it later on...

Do you have support for Wireguard? If not, I think you should try to get Wireguard implemented in your service. I would love to try your VPN out. Thanks.

I'd need to know a lot more about your company and its data retention policies before I go sending my potentially unencrypted traffic over it, tyvm.
*shrug* well you've piqued my curiosity anyway. Shoot me a PM.

Excuse me if I'm out of line here, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but you have two servers, one of which you can't explain who owns it.

I hope you can understand how this doesn't inspire confidence in your service.

Can you define "test our service out" and what kind of feedback you are looking for?
What’s your product called?
Can you tell us anything about your professional background and how it led to your involvement in this project?
Well, I thought that you were shilling for Pure VPN or something, but after reading your comments...maybe not. I’m not in a position to be a beta tester for anything, but take my upvote.
Will you have servers with UK IPs for those who would like to watch BBC services while abroad?

Could I get access?
I'm not particularly tech savvy, but I'm curious about your plans for mobile users.
Well, if time comes when you want app testers, I'm willing. I probably use mobile 80% of the time.
I'm looking for a VPN at the moment. Can I get more information on the service?
If you are still looking for testers I'd like to give it a shot, have been looking for a decent VPN recently. Can you give me more info on your policies / how you plan to monetize it later on through pm?
