I agree, but it's nice that at least his talking isn't evasive or misleading. What he's describing here actually sounds pretty good. Actually implementing it would be self-sabotaging his company,...

This is just a lie right? IIRC there was an article posted here that talked about the exact opposite, how the founder(s?) of WhatsApp got muscled out over facebook wanting to undo the encryption...
It's also why we built end-to-end encryption into WhatsApp after we acquired it.

Let's not forget, however, that while your WhatsApp messages themselves are encrypted, the metadata is still collected and stored by Facebook. So while it's not as bad as the OP says, WhatsApp is...

Would it be bad manners for me to leave an archive.org link for this article? I know there are many who probably don't want to visit any of Facebook's domains.

I appreciate it. I had only read the snippets quoted in various articles until this for that reason. I don't see a problem with it since it isn't a paywalled site or anything like that.

That would be great. However, in previous conversations here it was brought up that a platform doing that automatically might expose the platform legally.

Normally I agree, but this page doesn't seem to have any overlays or annoying prompts. It actually let me read without bugging me.
