Is it just me, or is the facebook brand slowly but surely starting to creep more and more into the oculus stuff? I seem to recall a while back, a bit after the purchase that facebook said that oculus would remain a totally independent entity, but of course everyone at the time knew that was obviously a lie, since... why would you buy a company that you didn't think you could squeeze extra profit out of by integrating your core product.
Seems like that's just now starting to take place. I've never been big into Oculus because of facebook's involvement in it, and stuff like this just makes me even more wary of the brand.
Facebook's been starting on this with their other acquisitions as well, last month they announced they'd start rebranding as "Instagram from Facebook" and "WhatsApp from Facebook".
I think the general reputation of Facebook is becoming more negative, so they're trying to attach it to their other products that people still have a generally positive opinion towards.
Unrelated to Oculus, but disappointed the next beat saber music pack is panic at the disco. I think this will be the first music pack I'm gonna pass on. Oh well, at least there's plenty of custom songs.
I guess Fandango is nice to get access to Movies Anywhere. (If you didn't have Amazon or Google Play through YouTube.)
Oculus has uploaded videos of the keynotes and a lot of other panels now as well. They're all available on their YouTube channel, but here are the keynotes specifically:
