Apple One seems like a pretty great deal, actually. Here's hoping my more Apple-obsessed family members get it and reach out to add me :P

I’m a very casual music listener and couldn’t justify the expense of Apple Music when free alternatives existed

But bundling it with Apple TV and the other services seems attractive enough.

Honestly, everything announced here was kind of underwhelming. All incremental updates. I guess that speaks to where technology is right now though.

Didn't the iPad Air get a pretty dramatic overhaul?

I'm strongly considering picking one up as my first ever iPad but the lack of a headphone slot is a big issue for me. Apple advertised it as more powerful than most laptops and yet, unlike their macbook pros, it doesn't have a headphone jack. All of my other devices - macbook pro, phone, nintendo switch and desktop all have a headphone jack. It just isn't reasonable to have wireless earphones just for the ipad.

Just leave an adapter attached to your headphones?

I really thought it would be a big issue for me when I bought my first phone without a headphone jack earlier this year. I've found it doesn't bother me at all. I just leave the lightning adapter on my headphones. I've also got a tiny bluetooth receiver that is surprisingly handy. It's really been a non-factor for me.

But they just added features that the iPad Pro already had at a lower price point - they didn’t add any new features that haven’t appeared elsewhere first.

Touch ID in the power button is definitely a new interaction model for iOS—granted, not fundamentally new overall. This is what you get with Tim Cook's Apple. The supply chain genius optimises the supply chain, but unfortunately, that seems to be resulting in a lot of reused hardware and components being conjured into different configurations to create new iterations on existing products.
