How to delete a Tildes account?
I DM’d Deimos already, but maybe the community can help, too: I want to completely delete my account but don’t find anything anywhere. Can anyone point me in the direction?

There is no function yet to delete a Tildes account. That feature hasn't been built yet. (Tildes is still in alpha-testing. It’s an unfinished product.)
You've taken the correct action, by messaging Deimos. He has deleted accounts for other people in the past. He'll do it for you now.

If you wouldn't mind me asking, what about Tildes makes you want to leave? I'm not trying to change your mind, your decision is your decision... I'm more curious whether it's something that would desirable to be altered, or if it's intrinsic to Tildes' design and will likely remain as it is. Because for every person who definitely wants to go, there's likely ten or twenty fence-sitters.
You can do that without deleting your account, if you don't want to lose your posting history :) I DM'd Deimos to change mine, and he took care of it in a trice.
Good to know.. Out of habit, I used title case and regretted it. Generally lowercase usernames are more aesthetically pleasing to me. But at this point it seems too much a nuisance (for Deismos) to get it changed. I'll have to get used to it.
I dunno I think your username is one you could sell for extraordinary amounts of money one day if this place ever pops off.

According to their user history page, they've been here for over 4 years, and there's no activity apart from this post.
It looks like they've totally wiped all their previous activity on this site. I think there's more going on here than just a desire for a new username.
Do you recognize the name? Was this person one of the active users? It would be odd if someone wanted to completely delete a four-year-old inactive account.
Yes, it would be odd. Which is why I don't think it was an inactive account. I think this account was used, but the owner has decided to erase it from Tildes.
As for me recognising the name... no. I've encountered literally hundreds of usernames here on Tildes in the 5 years I've been here, plus thousands of usernames over on Reddit in the same period. I don't remember them all. Far from it.
I didn't expect you to recognize them necessarily, but I recognized you and I know you're a poweruser around here, so I figured I'd ask.
I guess it's just one of those minor mysteries that make you go, "huh. I wonder..." and then you erase it from your brain in the nightly memory dump. It's not really our business after all, but I'm curious why someone would bother scrubbing their presence from here. It's a different thing altogether from doing so from the other site that everyone is tired of hearing about.
Meh. IMO its a good idea to delete inactive accounts especially if its a common handle.

Also a possibility! There's probably ten or twenty people who want that, too!
Maybe a reddit admin thats been told to not have one lol, i kid but maybe they doxed themselves and are wanting to purge it.
