Suggestion: Tag raising
It is currently possible to block unwanted tags on Tildes. It would be great to also have a feature that allows users to raise tags they're more interested in. Posts with raised tags will get a score multiplier for the user that raised them, in the same way as Exemplary comments get a score multiplier.
An example of a website that implements this really well is https://lesswrong.com, where you can give score multipliers to different tags to raise or lower them on your homepage.

I talked about a weighting system for groups before. It makes sense that such an idea could encompass both groups and tags, for finer-grained control.
I agree with you that algorithms are great when they are transparent and controllable by the users. Once again, I consider LessWrong to be one of the greatest examples of how this could be implemented.
What would examples of unwanted tags you encountered be? Shouldn't that self-regulate via voting?
Some people don't wish to follow politics topics, so filter out the
politics
tag, or don't want to read Substack articles and block thesubstack
tag.Oh, I understood 'block' as 'not allow this tag at all for everyone'. If this is all supposed to happen on an individual per-account basis and doesn't have anything preconfigured, that makes sense.
I don't understand your question. Tag blocking already exists on Tildes, my suggestion is for the opposite feature.
But an example of a tag that I block is "usa". I don't care about American news, but some people do, so that's not something that could be regulated with voting.
I block the tag videos. Just personal preference. I also have a couple of groups filtered that don't interest me.
