Allow anonymous posting in some groups?

Crazy Idea™: You know what might be neato, but I have no idea how it could be implemented... if Tildes could have groups where truly anonymous posting was allowed, though it would require authentication. Use cases: ~talk about something embarrassing, or ask questions for which on Reddit you would make a throwaway. Maybe this user permission was only allowed after some threshold was met? If it was truly anonymous in the database, then notifications on replies probably could not work, right?

Would that be useful at all? If so, probably low priority I know, but just a thought.

    And AFAIK there are plans for eventually allowing a sort of selective "dissociation" mechanic where users can post topics and comments anonymously, so they can feel free to discuss sensitive topics they don't want outwardly associated with their account/username and don't have to rely on throwaway accounts to do so... although it would likely still be tied to their account on the back-end so it can't be used to break the code of conduct.

        Up to you. That ~tildes.official topic is pretty old now (144 days) so IMO this topic does have some value in helping point anyone who is similarly interested in the idea of anonymous posting to...

At the very least, it might make for a fun April Fools week feature, if those ever became a thing here. I failed to post that in the topic text though... I should have suggested something like ~thunderdome from the get go.

        lol - I'd like to see it at least for an April fools joke. It could be a bit like the Purge or something and let everyone get their feelings out.
