Why would you not believe the site admin on this matter? Also, here's some evidence for you: both have the same bizarre writing style that involves totally avoiding the usage of capitals.

The one thing I don't understand: why is her writing style always brought up as so annoying? It's legible, and I've just taken it in the same vein as someone like bell hooks. I don't see why someone's personal choice to not capitalize their posts is a big deal.
All this angst over them and their banning is starting to get a bit ridiculous, IMO. I'm sad to see one of the more active posters on here go, and I find a lot of complaints (not all, certainly) about alyaza to reek of tone policing more than anything else. I'm sad to hear about the alt usage, because that's the one thing I feel is truly ban-worthy out of anything that she had done.

it's kinda ironic because most of the people I know who are truly brilliant and world class in their field often write emails, tweet, etc. in this fashion because time is more important to them then wasting time with punctuation
Maybe you can explain to me this trend then - why is it that left-wing people (because it is definitely left-wing people) often deliberately decide to elide capital letters? This trend is...
Maybe you can explain to me this trend then - why is it that left-wing people (because it is definitely left-wing people) often deliberately decide to elide capital letters? This trend is something I've noticed a lot, but no-one else I've talked to has, and I can't work out where or why it started. Is it just a matter of flagging oneself as part of a certain culture?

MAYBE IT IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO LOOK CAPITALIST/s
More seriously, it is possible that capital letters require extra effort on mobile devices, or when typing with one hand, so unless there is an auto-correct that e.g. replaces i with I, then everything is lowercase.
Sorry, I rewrote my comment halfway through without proper consideration. You're right, I meant 'omit capitalization'. I'm not assuming you're left-wing, but alyaza definitely is, and so are the...

I think there's a lot of reasons one might ignore capitalization or punctuation and to try and figure out why across an entire population is foolish.
If I'm typing on mobile, it takes a lot more time to capitalize and add punctuation. My phone automatically adds capitalization in certain circumstances, so I leave those there, but I'm not going to go out of my way to fix incorrect grammar when the message is still the same.
Sometimes people are pressed for time, or simply do not care to put as much effort into a response for any number of reasons. In this case they may omit capitalization and proper grammar.
If the same message comes across, why do you care so much about how it is presented? To me, this is akin to looking a gift horse in the mouth - it's rude and dismissive and the reality is that someone who doesn't act like you do might be able to provide a seriously different viewpoint which is extremely valuable.
English is not their first language.
They are specifically doing it because they know it annoys you and others on the internet and they want to be contrarian.
They do not agree with the level to which you find this important, and think that the underlying message is more important.
Honestly I could sit here and think of ideas all day, but the real question you should be asking yourself is why are you so annoyed by it? The amount of extra effort you have to put into reading something which is otherwise formatted correctly but not punctuated or capitalized correctly is insignificant when compared to how much effort you're actively spending on reading and replying on the internet (perhaps adds an extra few seconds to your activity) - such a strong response to such a minor issue seems rather odd.
I can only imagine that the answer to this is age demographics. Younger people write in all-lowercase because it is a style that has developed recently. Older people use all-caps because it's an...

I can only imagine that the answer to this is age demographics. Younger people write in all-lowercase because it is a style that has developed recently. Older people use all-caps because it's an older form of emphasis when bold and italics weren't available.
So if you're noticing a political alignment along age demographics... well, that's quite a bit to read into.
It is annoying, to me at least. It's objectively harder to read and pointlessly contrarian. Anyway, that's not the point I was making here - my point was that it's good evidence for the two...

Not to mention that they're not actually the same style, DearDeer has an inconsistent style where they sometimes use caps and sometimes don't. I don't see the accounts having much in common - they very much seem to have differing opinions and they're like, totally unrelated.
And to answer your question: I don't believe the site admin because I've known alyaza on discord for a while (maybe you think I'm biased, that's not the point), and because I don't believe in always believing what people in authority say without evidence. It just seems like a weird appeal to authority at that point.

Those damn white men and their desire for their writing to be clear and readable.
to be fair I'm pretty white (russian/european), work in a tech related field, and I'm still considered young by most, so 🤷

how can one elide a capital letter? Do you mean omit or simply ignore capitalization?
Why do you assume I'm left-wing?

I'm like 3% annoyed and 97% curious. Thanks for the response anyway though.

What you're basically implying is that Deimos is overtly lying. If that is your belief then you should stop using tildes, to be frank.
If you don't trust Deimos, what are you doing here? If there is absolutely one person who you should trust on a website that you frequent, it is the site owner, creator, and admin. Otherwise, don't use their product.

And again, we're not having a big public debate about this. You can send me a message if you need to.
