Easily distinguish text topics from link topics?

So currently as far as I know the only way to tell the difference between a link or text topic is by the username section if it’s a name it’s a text and if it has a website name/URL it’s a link,

When I’m slowly browsing it isn’t too hard to distinguish them but sometimes if I’m flicking past quick “as I often do” it can be nearly impossible to tell them apart without stopping and looking an each individual topic, could we not make them a different colour or maybe add the word link somewhere just so it’s easier on the eyes?.

Text posts = Ask (advice), Ask (recommendations), Ask (survey), & Text
External links = Article, Image, PDF, Tweet, Video

Not entirely true. In ~music and ~creative, the "taste-based" groups, the username of the submitter is always listed, since that was deemed more relevant/important information than the domain being submitted. And you can also distinguish text topics by their expandable summary... although Tweets also have something similar too.

However with all that said, the distinction could definitely be a bit clearer, so I have added a Gitlab issue for this suggestion: https://gitlab.com/tildes/tildes/-/issues/701

In the desktop version, text topics also have expandable text. However, I support that some distinctive feature is added to the mobile version as well.

I see a favicon next to the name on linked topics and no favicons on text topics. Seems straightforward enough to me, it's even colorblind friendly. Is it possible you disabled the setting somehow?

Yes I get the little favicons, but they are sometimes nearly invisible if they clash with the theme I’m using

Maybe it's because I'm old, but it doesn't stand out enough in my opinion. I think it would be nice to have some other distinguishing feature that's more obvious, like a different background...

I agree links are distinguished enough already, at least for me.

Or perhaps this can be set at account level setting. But then it would only make sense if its convenient to switch between multiple accounts, tweetdeck style.
