Suggestion: Make the #offbeat tag special like #nsfw and #spoiler

I would suggest the Joke colour for this tag.

Actually, I suggest the Exemplary colour as well as making ~bestoftildes a permanent alias of #offbeat.

Maybe it would be better to have a weekly topic for jokes? (I considered doing it myself, but was waiting for a good enough joke.)

For me, offbeat is a nice way to convey WTF. Look at what has been tagged with #offbeat. Many of these topics are very serious, even if they might have shocking titles. A very good example is this...

A very good example is this topic (sorry for a shameless plug). Is an attempt to make copyright eternal funny? NO WAY. Is it not very important (NB this was at the level of UNESCO)? Yes, it IS EXTREMELY important. But is it WTF? Definitely.

That UNESCO link doesn’t seem very offbeat to me, but what do I know?

IMO offbeat is not nearly important enough as a topic tag to receive the same visibility precedence and custom styling as the nsfw or spoiler tags do. Nobody really needs to know if a submission is "offbeat", since it's mostly used to denote there is some amusing or bizarre element to it, which is of no real import in the grand scheme of things. Whereas someone not knowing something is nsfw or contains a spoiler can potentially ruin their day (or career, if they are caught opening up legitimately NSFW content while at work, even if it was accidental), which is something we should try our best to help everyone avoid... hence the precedence and custom styling of those specific tags and no others.
