I was somewhat excited about this one but seeing it in action has dulled my interest. It seemed like a really good candidate for a city-friendly electrified family vehicle, but it looks like the American market only gets a 3-row version with an extra 10 in. of wheelbase instead of the (more street-parking friendly) 2-row. That and the press photos make it seem like the body panels and materials are surprisingly cheap looking for a $60k+ car. The Hyundai and Kia EVs are in the same price range and look so much sleeker in comparison.
Every EV I seem to look at, I always come back to the same conclusion: whichever manufacturer builds a normal looking EV sedan to sell in the US where they ditch the space age design touches and scrap the giant infotainment screens for regular buttons, will get ahead. I wish they had kept going with the e-Golf - seemed like my ideal vehicle.
Though I guess they run more market research than me, so maybe that's not what most people want.
