It sounds like the Thrawn arc is taking significant inspiration from the now de-canonized Heir to the Empire books (title drop!), which were on my opinion the best books in the original canon so, I'm going to give this series a shot despite everything Disney Star Wars being uninteresting (minus Andor).
Looks great. Hopefully it will follow in Andor's tracks, and less so in the every-other-episode-is-a-filler-side-quest direction that I feel The Mandalorian is really suffering from

I like the series we've had so far, but I wish we'd depart from Grogu. The Lone Wolf and Cub thing is getting a little stale.

Honestly minus the strictly Bo Katan stuff Mando season 3 has been a mess, and Grogu's half assed inclusion is the least worst of it.
this 100%! I was so excited to see him out of the picture. I mean, he doesn't really do a lot --- but we all know that Din is gonna get into a pickle and some magggggical force shit is gonna...

With S03, I'd be happy if they focused almost entirely on Bo Katan's journey. But yeah, I agree with you completely.
It’s hard for me to feel anything significant about Disnified Star Wars but I’ll probably watch the pilot at least.

'keep George's vision' means 'sell toys'.
