This looks way better than the teaser trailer. Better than I ever thought a live action adaptation could be. I still think trying to adapt One Piece to live action is a losing proposition though.

I'll definitely be checking it out when it drops.
Honestly I'm really really excited for this Unlike most other adaptations they seem to have their heart in the right place and they're willing to look odd or goofy to keep the story and the world...

Arlong has some Pirates of the Caribbeans fish people vibes and I'm down for it!
Oh! They also announced the music composers. https://screenrant.com/one-piece-series-sonya-belousova-giona-ostinelli-music/ It will be Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli. Sonya's piano channel is...

Man. This is better than I had hopes for initially when hearing that Netflix was making this show, considering how they’ve butchered some other properties I’ve liked such as Death Note and Cowboy Bebop. The cast members seeming to be really into One Piece, as well as Oda’s support, seemed to be good signs to me. I liked the teaser trailer when it came out, but still had some doubts about if the zany world of One Piece could really be translated well into live action. At the time, I was content that it didn’t look bad and that One Piece in general would get a lot more exposure. With this trailer having shown a lot more of the effort that seems to have been invested into the show, I’m genuinely excited to see it now.

The appeal seems to only be for those stubborn people who are like “this looks interesting” and when you point out that there’s an animated version they “no thanks” you. My sister thought Cowboy Bebop was great but refuses to watch the anime because “animation is for children and anime is for weirdos”.

Personally, I much prefer stories that are adapted from a written medium first. I dislike so many original works that go straight into a show or a movie. I think it's great when stories prove themselves first. That's why I prefer anime a lot more compared to live actions since they are adapted from light novels or manga way more often. It's like there are more steps for quality control. It would be awesome if that happened more for live action stuff.
Also for One Piece, the manga is already much better than the anime. The anime has a lot more filler, especially when it catches up to the source material they start to stretch the animations so that a 10 sec clip becomes 1+ minutes. You can check the One Pace project. One Piece / One Pace Comparison (I still like it since the music is great but I can see why others might drop the show off something like that.). They won't have to use so much filler in the live action so there's potential to get a great adaptation.
Edit: Just to clarify, the live action adaptation isn't based on the anime, it's based on the manga. I'm sure there will be references here and there to the anime but the source is the manga.
Could be because of the color grading they used on the trailer. Hopefully won't be like that in the actual show. The actors though are spot on. Costumes also look great, they are based on the...

The vibe seems perfect. It's a really goofy show with some moments of seriousness. Most important is the chemistry between the main crew.

Oda wrote a pretty good letter too https://twitter.com/Eiichiro_Staff/status/1682558483449929728/photo/1.
If the series is well done and fun, I think it's going to be a winning proposition. This will introduce One Piece to so many people.
Reading that letter gave me so much reassurance. The original mangaka having such passionate support makes a big difference in my expectations.

Sonya's piano channel is so cool! snip

I'm hyped for this. I love the casting. I love how good Sanji's kick looked.

The production crew looks stacked too https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11737520/fullcredits. For example Steven Maeda. Great interview here with him.
There's also Matt Owens. He got
grilledinterviewed by Nux a while ago. And more recently after the teaser.
