Any other Yellowjackets fans here?
I just finished season 2, and I’m itching to discuss - but no one else in my world is into it! I’m not quite at theory stage, but I have so many questions I want to bandy about. Anyone here ready to start a spoiler-heavy thread?
Quickly fell in love with season 1 and binged it over a weekend. Haven't seen season 2 yet, but hope to soon - heard mixed reviews for S02 so I'm a bit tepid.
Season 2 pulled me in more than 1 did.
Admittedly, a particularly inspired needledrop moment that perfectly captured a very pivotal moment in the show is what really made me sit up and start checking out the show properly. What a scene, one of the best I've seen on TV in a long time.
FWIW, I loved it. It’s VERY dark, and it goes in directions I didn’t anticipate. But it’s relationship-focused in complex ways, which is my sweet spot. And the acting is PHENOMENAL.
It's Lord of the Flies meets the Hannibal tv series. Very dark, indeed.
I liked that they brought in Elijah Wood. They will need him with the exit of the most famous actress at the end of season 2.
Elijah Wood was a genuine treat in that role, and Misty’s musical number was what I didn’t know I needed. I’m glad he’s there, but I’m still shook by that “exit” you mentioned!
What were the negatives you heard about season two? I'd be happy to confirm or rebut.
Hey man, sorry think you misread the title. OP was talking about Yellowjackets, not Yellowstone, very different shows haha
I realize I'm late, but am definitely in for a spoiler heavy thread!
Let’s make it happen! Okay, here’s one of my burning questions about the season finale: when the adult gals were preparing for the hunt, it seemed Shauna had blunted the knives. Had they all made the implements ineffective so the hunt would seem dangerous to Lottie but actually be safe?
Hiding the spoilers in case someone stumbles into the thread
That whole part was a little confusing but I think in the end they were fully intending to carry out the hunt. I could be remembering wrong but I believe all but Lottie had weapons that were real. In my opinion, whatever the thing is that has a hold on them acted on each of them independently - kind of like the scene where they hunt Travis - and imbued them with the intent to truly kill whoever chose the queen. I think it's part of the mysticism.
I still want to know more about the no-eyes guy. Was Taissa exposed to it earlier in life - a la the grandma scene - and that's why she is the most affected (well maybe other than Lottie)? I'm excited for them to dive down that rabbit hole.
