I watched the first episode of Season 3 of Reacher. I felt like the first season was a really high point, and Season 2 was quite a step down. I felt like the first episode kind of played with that a bit - giving what seems like a mischaracterization of Reacher, and then giving you an explanation of it that totally works. I thought the action was pretty well done, and Alan Ritchson is Reacher; he really inhabits the character completely, from the physicality to the sassy attitude and intelligence.

So far, it seems more back on form, but we'll see how it goes.

I recently rewatched both seasons of American Vandal and I always forget how much I love this series and wish they made more. I think the satire and the message for the show is actually really incredible for something in this day and age haha.

I know they made Players but I never got super into it, even though I do love watching LoL eSports, I should try and go through that again.

    The Game - 6/10

Link because the name is so unoriginal that it's impossible to find or maybe even know what I'm talking about lol, even despite trying to search for it

A cold war noir show and it does feel very noir - which is great - complete with a ton of spy tropes from half a century old movies - which is not great when things rely on things that have been done done to death a million times before. But doing this, their show is also guaranteed to pass as alright-to-fine, so I get why they do it because the tropes do work. But definitely don't expect a prestige type show at all. Also, the main character is horribly miscast.

    Deutschland 83 - 7.5/10

Another cold war show, quite better than above. About a DDR HVA Stasi agent who infiltrates the BRD Bundeswehr. Similar as above, quite a few very old spy genre tropes but nowhere near as many, and it's a very gripping show. It's also satisfying in a way to branch out from Anglo production and see completely new actors and the differences in filming and writing etc. etc. I should do that more but Denmark being tiny and speaking only broken German makes it hard to find those shows and movies. In any case, there are three seasons of this show and this is the first one. Really good watch!
Going to watch season two and three now, 86 and 89, and will probably report back next week with another little review!

My mom and I just watched the pilot for Grosse Point Garden Society. I saw a commercial for it and got strong Desperate Housewives vibes, which was a favorite for us when I was a teen. And the first episode gave us both strong Desperate Housewives vibes. Everyone has their own personal drama going on (affairs, custody, drama with kids and work), and then six months later they get caught up in a murder for reasons we don't know yet. The episode kept jumping back and forth between the present and six months later. Fingers crossed it keeps the momentum going!

Also, we were shocked to realize Birdie is Melissa Fumero. Birdie is VERY different from Amy on Brooklyn 99. It's always great to see actors in wildly different roles so we can really get a sense of their talent and range!
