Ok! So! This planet has secrets, big ones, with missiles!
Now they have an ace in the hole, but Sinclair is once again having to face off against Earthforce and wins by lying but being right at the same time. (While getting lucky.)
But where did the machine come from, and what is it for and why is it just where Babylon 5 ended up placed (all the Babylons? Some?) it definitely feels like once again there are bigger things out there than we understand - "we" being all the younger races in B5 and the viewers at the same time. We will see Draal again but when would be "spoilers"
Hints of internal conflict again with more about Mars and Earth butting heads, Mars here is definitely a colony, and not its own entity like in The Expanse, with a couple of other notable colonies that get the most attention in the show. Underneath Garibaldi's personal plot is signs of political trouble.
And I think it's worth asking a question, why didn't Mr Morden ask the Captain or any of the humans "What do you want?" And what does that mean for Earth and the humans going forward?
Lorewise the Hyperion is a capital ship, the only one of its model in the show proper (idr if they use it in a prequel), and one of the few survivors of the Earth-Minbari war. Earth got fucked up real bad, which makes Sinclair's "hole in his mind" all the more suspicious.. something happened there, but what and why. (Lots of what and why)
Tbh it's really a shame we never really get the backstory on B1-4, especially 4.
