They started talking about making it last forever. I find it hard to follow stories that don't have an ending in sight.
Maybe creating other shows will work for them, but I'm not sure if I'd be interested in any other Walking Dead show or movie.
A huge part of the allure of The Walking Dead is having hope that they'll one day be able to be free of their nightmare. Endless cliffhangers and making the show live forever shits all over that....

Most people don't watch because they want to see their favorite characters keep dying. They watch because they want to see them be happy in the end (at least, that's what I used to watch it for). What a shame AMC runs this show instead of HBO or Netflix.
There is a way to make a series like this "live forever", but whatever it is they're not doing it right. And it's not quite clear what it is they want to do with it either aside from broad strokes...

And it's not quite clear what it is they want to do with it either aside from broad strokes looking at the article. Or at least that's all they're willing to reveal. I started to lose interest after watching started to feel like a chore and dropped it a few months ago. And judging by the viewership ratings these last couple of seasons (or half seasons or whatever) I'm not alone.
If they could recreate what made the earlier seasons interesting in new settings, with a new compelling cast I'd be interesting. Maybe a different style of show instead of survival, in the strict sense that they're always on the defense and trying to fortify or fight off enemies.
They really need to work on the pacing of their shows. There is so much source material for them to work with that they just ignore. They take one aspect of the comic book and stretch it out over...

Recently watching the Expanse made me realize just how slow paced TWDs story is vs how it could be.

I loved the first couple of seasons... now it's just boring. The comics are so much better.
Soooo...10 years will see the completion of .....three storylines?
