Netflix series Dark (season 3)
Is anyone watching this? I finished season two about 6 weeks ago but I'm wondering if I should just rewatch the first two seasons before starting the third.
If you're unfamiliar with the show, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's probably the best TV show, of any type, that I've ever seen. Here's the original trailer, but there's SO much more than what it shows. In the words of @Bezarius who recommended it to me:
The German show Dark is incredible. I just finished watching the first season this evening and it's the most perfect season of television I've seen in a long, long time. Literally the only thing I would rate alongside The Sopranos or The Wire. It has it all - complexity, deep philosophy, theoretical physics, horology, sci-fi elements, brilliant characterisation/acting, unpredictability, great dialogue and masterful pacing. Check it out.
A word of warning though. DO NOT watch it in English, The English voice acting is atrocious.
I started the first episode, but nothing really hooked me...
I can always give it another try though, since it is quarantine.
I don't understand the hype. Looks similar to Fringe and 12 Monkeys. What's special about this show?
I will add great direction and cinematography to the quote I included in the OP, but if it didn't convince you in the first place, I don't know what will.
Actually its Wiki page(Massive Spoilers) got me interested now. Those are some weird family trees, Quantum Physics looks easier to understand lol. I love fully committed fan base. I'll have to start from Season 1 though. How many episodes?
3 10-episode seasons, each usually an hour long. I'd have thought it best going in without knowing much of anything, but if that works for you, have at it.

I'm about halfway (episode 6) through season 1 and I'm really enjoying it. Although I think building up a mystery and wrapping up a mystery are two different skills, and not every writer excels at both. I hope that the ending is as satisfying as the build-up (no spoilers though please).
I absolutely agree about them being two different skills. Everyone who's already finished season 3 is apparently raving about it though.
The fiance has been watching this with the English dub. Perhaps that's why I am so turned off by it. It makes it feel like another series of American Horror Story.
FWIW, the dub becomes "passable" in season 2. Same pain here....
Also, the sound effects guy tones down his weeeeaooyh noises quite a bit, which helps :)
Been enjoying it so far.
I watched 1st 2 season of the show, I liked it, but somehow I'm not interested in watching 3rd season. One thing that annoys me is that season's doesn't have any closure. Things keep happening and at the season ending you realise you have to wait for another season to find any meaning, It really pisses me off sometimes.
Lol. This is confirmed as the last season, if that makes any difference.
I'm one episode from finishing the series. The last episode that I watched was really good.
I didn't feel the need to rewatch previous seasons going into the third one. But for some reason I have very good memory when it comes to movies and series.
I'm watching it and am halfway through season 3. I'm starting to lose the bubble a bit on who everyone is, having not gone back to rewatch any old episodes, but I still enjoy it.
I just went back and watched the last episode from season 2. That pretty much caught me back up to speed with the various threads and characters.
