I caught up with Resident Alien. It seemed like the season finale, but I'm not positive. In any event, I thought it was really good.
For All Mankind has gotten really good after an incredibly weak start. What's funny is that the best parts aren't the ones the creators seem to want you to think are good. For example:
Spoilers
The Americans with guns sneaking up on the Russians to take back their mining operation while "I Fought the Law and the Law Won" was incredibly cheesy. (I mean it was funny, but there was also no real conflict. The Russians just run away.) The flight leading up to that was a lot cooler.I also like the historical videos of Reagan with Ellen inserted into them a lot. They could go some very interesting directions with her story and her decision to potentially come out while working directly with Reagan.
We also binged I Am Not Okay With This. It was really good! Each episode is between 18 and 26 minutes, so the entire 7 episode season is really just like a single 2.5-hour long movie. The story is that a young woman living with her single mother and younger brother in industrial Pennsylvania starts to realize that she has super powers that mainly manifest when she's in a rage.
I got sidetracked by other stuff, but started Resident Alien and have seen parts of the season, mostly enough to be confused and have a series of epiphanies when I sit down to watch it myself. I thought it would just be goofy, but it's really a good show.
I've been watching Breeders Season 2 which started about a month ago. Season 1 was great from start to finish and I've been recommending the series to all my friends since the first episode. It's a comedy about parenting by writer Simon Blackwell who frequently collaborates with Armando Iannucci, so if you love The Thick of It, Veep or In The Loop, you'll find the humor in Breeders familiar even if the story's much different from those shows.
I'm watching the Invincible super hero cartoon on Amazon. It's really fun
I finally got around to watching The Great -- and it is... GREAT!
Is it factually accurate? I doubt it... but its a really fun series so far. I'm three episodes in. I found it really easy to crank through these episodes and decided to take it slower, since I'm enjoying it so much.
The casting is fantastic, too.
Outside of that, Top Chef is back. I think, as (almost) always, this season will be pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how they'll work around the whole pandemic.
Huzzah! The Great is indeed great.

I love The Great. They all just look like they're massively enjoying themselves. Nicholas Hoult is great - his character is tricky to play and get right but he manages it I think. And Elle Fanning is just effervescent and excellent. It's genuinely funny, and really gruesome, and I love it.
right! its perfectly balanced. I put off watching it because I thought it would be a little more on the serious side of things. I really liked her in A Rainy Day in New York.
I'm watching The Expanse and I'm halfway through season 3. I really like the world building and feeling of the show but there are some hopelessly unoriginal characters and scenes that I feel lowers the overall quality of the show.
