I couldn’t agree more on our politics being a shitshow thing (I live in the US, fortunately or unfortunately…), and the 2016 election turned me from someone who couldn’t care less about politics into a politically hyper-aware and engaged voter. I’ll look into the RSS method, and I’m going to try engaging with Mastodon a bit more to see if it’s worthwhile.
That is, after I take a break from it all this weekend, of course.
Again, I think what you did was kickass, and you should know it definitely inspired me to follow suit. Cheers!

Not sure how/where I’ll continue to stay on top of things, but for now, I concur with you that Reddit is probably not good for my mental health anyway.

Part of me is nostalgic for the time before that, i.e the file sharing, music from the high seas days. I had this software that turned my screensaver into a video slideshow, and I would pirate numetal/alternative music videos to add to it every day. What a time to be alive!

I'm a soon-to-be Reddit refugee (waiting for June 30th/end of 3rd Party apps) and just checked in to Reddit this AM. Unless it's just me, the website appears to be down. Can't help but speculate this has something to do with the blackout that is supposed to be going down today and tomorrow (or indefinitely depending on the subreddit)...
