I've been playing Persona 5 Royal on my Steam Deck. I've been wanting to play this game for a looong time because of all it's praise online and because of the great music and animations I had seen/heard in it's trailers.
My expectations were quite high, and the game still lives up to that expectations. The story is great and really takes me in, the gameplay loop is fun and I really like it's pacing. And the music. Man, the music is so good that I can't sit still half the time.

This is my first Persona game, but it won't be my last. The only "downside" is that it takes so long to finish. I'm the kind of player that takes their time in games, and I've currently put 140-150 hours into this game with at least 10 more to go. I don't mind as I love this game so much, but I do have many more games in my backlog that I've been wanting to play and have been putting on a hold for now.

Before I started playing P5R I was 40-50 hours into Dragon Age Inquisition, but I really couldn't finish it. The story and the choices you could make were good, but the game was filled to the brim with many variations of quests that were nothing more than "go to point A and press X". That wouldn't be so bad if the open world of the game was actually interesting, but that wasn't the case either. The world was filled with corridors and nothing interesting happened along the way.
It got stale quickly and often I had to play up to 10 hours of boring gameplay for a few hours of fun gameplay at most. Another thing that I hated was the inventory management. My inventory would fill up all the time and I would be spending way too much time organizing it. It's a shame because I know there is a good game hidden under all those bad design elements. My girlfriend loves the series (although she was disappointed in The Veilguard), so I've often been bombarded with the cool stuff.
I might try finishing the game later, with some mods installed that negate the issues that I have with the game a bit, less care for proper inventory management and a complete focus on doing just the mainstory quests. But it might be too late for me now. Especially after playing P5R.

Because I was playing DAI right before I started playing P5R, P5R was a huge breath of fresh air in that aspect as well: No forced inventory management and a contant, nice pacing. The in-game days just keep going and you don't have to waste time getting somewhere all the time. Much of the management is also hidden in gameplay. It feels as a much better designed and more polished game for sure!

Personally, for GOG and Epic Games, I like to use the Heroic launcher. For everything else (except Steam of course) I prefer Bottles over Lutris, as it is way more simple and clean. Lutris has a lot of potential, but I feel like the experience with Lutris is in general way too messy and as user friendly as it could be. Just my 2 cents :)

I've played the demo as well on Steam and I really liked it as well! I might pick it up some day.

Long answer: This app is basically a wrapper with Wine and Box64. Wine is software designed to translate Windows system calls to Unix/Linux system calls. Technically this is not emulation, but the result is similar.
Box64 is software designed to run x86_64 Linux software on ARM processors. Combine those two and you can run Windows software on ARM Linux devices, what most Android devices are.

I've never used PowerRename specifically, but I'm glad you gave it a shout out. Bulk rename tools like these are a must for me and I recommend anyone that wants to rename multiple files even occupationally to install a tool like this.

I'm on Linux and I thought I'd share the tool(s) I use for this for my fellow Linux users on Tildes, as I use it quite often:

I use nnn as one of my file managers on my system. It may look simple, but it is actually a very powerful file manager that has a mass rename functionality build in. When I want to rename multiple files in a directory, I open that directory in nnn and press the r-key. nnn will then almost instantly open a list of the files in my default text editor, which is Neovim in my case.

Like nnn, Neovim looks old-fashioned and simple, but it is very powerful once you learn how to use it. In Neovim, I can edit the filenames with the power of Neovim (and all of my regular Neovim plugins and configurations). It automatically renames the changed files once I save the "text file", so if I make a mistake I can simply cancel by exiting without saving.

There are a LOT of ways to do this on Linux, but this is the way I do it. There are many file managers, both in the terminal and with a GUI, with similar functionality. Some have it build in, some have plug-ins available. I would recommend anyone on Linux to check if their preferred file manager is one of those. Alternatively, there are also stand-alone tools available and you could even do it with a simple script.

Gosh, I wasn't even aware that you had released your Tildes app as well! As an ex-RIF user, it feels like Christmas to install both Sync for Lemmy and your new Tildes app on the same day. I will install it right away, I'm excited to try it out!

Sync feels absolutely amazing so far. I also really like both Summit and Thunder for Lemmy, which both somewhat remind me of RIF. But none of those are as refined right now as Sync, so that will be my app of choice. The only other app that I still want to try is Boost for Lemmy, which I'm also really excited for. I always used RIF, but I always admired Boost for Reddit as well.

I also really like the combination of using both Lemmy/Kbin and Tildes. I feel like Tildes is my new online "home" for having nice discussions about certain topics. It's distraction free and I'm not prone to wasting a lot of time here. A perfect place for me to use as my "main community".
Kbin and Lemmy are more similar to (old) Reddit. Those are great for if you want more (frequent) content or a home for specific niches.
As a result, I've been wasting a lot less time on these platforms compared to my previous Reddit-usage, while having a more positive and rewarding experience.

I would love to see a remake of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. That game is one of my childhood favorites and probably one of Ubisoft's best games ever. I think Ubisoft was at their very best in those days. As a kid I really enjoyed this game, but I always got stuck at some point. I've only recently actually beaten it for the first time, and really enjoyed playing it as an adult as well!

It has such a great atmosphere. The music and characters are wonderful. EVERY level feels unique and none of the levels felt like filler-content: The game is filled with great content form the beginning to the end. I can't believe they did such a great job at transitioning from a 2D platformer to a 3D platformer at the dawn of 3D games with Rayman 2.

But that's also the reason why the game could use a remaster. The graphics and lightning look great for their time, but it looks dated nowadays, esspecially if you don't have any nostalgia to this game. The camera angles and controls can also be a bit awkward at times. I believe this game would do amazing if it had a proper true to the original remake, like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot had.

Additionally, Rayman 3 deserves a remake as well. As I kid I couldn't even finish the tutorial, but I'm planning on playing and finishing this game as well. Rayman 3 also has amazing music that I like to listen to from time to time and a very cool world. I would love to see it in a modern engine with reworked models

I've also played Rayman 1 a lot (or actually Rayman Advance), but that game doesn't need a remake. Not because I don't like that game, I love it. It doesn't need a remake because there is already a very, very impressive fanmade remake called Rayman Redemption. It's by far the best fan-project that I've ever seen for a videogame. Would recommend playing it.

I fully agree with you. I'm on Lemmy as well and I really enjoy both platforms. Lemmy already felt refreshing. I fulfills most of the reasons that I used Reddit for and it already has better quality comments than Reddit, but it can't be compared to Tildes. Tildes is not even remotely trying to be Reddit and I think it should stay that way. Tildes is special.

I'm really pleasantly surprised by how great Tildes and it's community is. Everything in it's design is well thought out. Every detail in the very pleasing minimal interface has a purpose and the focus is clearly on having good conversations: No distracting colors, images or even thumbnails. The comments that you've already read collapse automatically so the new ones are easy to find. There is only text. And that's the only thing you need, because it's all about quality conversations and community.

No experience has come this close to my experiences on an old forum I used to visit all the time when I was young. I really missed that feeling, so I couldn't be happier to be part of this little magical place.

Thank you @Deimos, for carefully building this place. It seems very clear to me that you've put a lot of passion and love into this place!

The mashed potato sounds like the same thing I used to eat quite often when I grew up, although my mom didn't really add garlic as far as I know. We often ate it with white fish (like fish sticks or some other fish) and carrots on the side. Tastes great!

I should also plan my meals more. You made me realize that planning my meals can make it way easier for me. When I need to come up with something to eat when I'm already hungry, it's way harder to come up with something good and actually take the time to maybe get ingredients and cook it. I think making a list of recipe-options for that week with ingredients that I already have, would really help me!

Those are things that I also make often. I do like to play around with the other sauce-bases for my pasta as well, like pesto.

Another "sauce" I like to make for my pasta, is based on egg and olives:

I add an egg to my pasta after I drained the water. Mix it well with the pasta, put the lid on it and let it rest for a few minutes. After that I add things like sliced black olives, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and olive oil. Stuff like that. It's fun to play around with those kind of recipes and it indeed almost always results in a great meal :)
