(I realize unwanted) I dont really understand why this was such a big thing, do we all have thicker skin today being raised on the internet?, I got my first (family) computer at the age of 7 in 1996, and have been addicted to the internet since, ive seen lots of crazy shit, someone taking over my avatar and initiating sex with words would be annoying, but I'd just be angry not broken up over it

    I didnt hear about this one yet, fellow detectorists here, I just got into the hobby this spring so I'm fairly new So far ive found about $64 in (canadian) coins, about $6 of that are in such bad...

    So far ive found about $64 in (canadian) coins, about $6 of that are in such bad shape I should just throw it out

    Ive found 8 rings, 2 sterling rings, 2 gumball machine rings, 1 black ring maybe stainless or tungsten, and 3 kids rings that look real, better then the gumball specials, but still just not precious

    I found 2 sterling earrings and 2 sterling charms

    A bunch of little cheap jewelery like pendents and earrings and such

    2 canadian silver dimes, .800 silver

    A 1913 large cent

    A few junker bracelets

    And a possible gold chain, I havnt figured out if its actually karat gold, or just gold filled, if you dont know what gold filled is, its like plated, but Instead of being microns thick, its 5% gold by weight

    I also found a couple bullets and thats about it I think

    I have 5 scrap piles going, stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminum and lead

    I actually used chat gpt to do a project .... Once I wrote a blurb about coins for a framed poster I'm doing, it was about 2 paragraphs in unformatted english because I suck at english I had chat...

    I wrote a blurb about coins for a framed poster I'm doing, it was about 2 paragraphs in unformatted english because I suck at english

    I had chat gpt expand it into about 6 paragraphs, with proper punctuation, then I posted it to r/canadiancoins and got advice about 2 spots where it hallucinated, so I fixed those manually

    Then I paid someone $10 to design the placement of the paragraphs and objects on a sheet of paper

    And then my project is basically done, I just havnt got around to piecing it together in the real world, its just digitally done

    When AI is able to do graphic design, I could have saved the $10 having someone do that

    But thats the only useful thing ive done with chatgpt, otherwise I use it once or twice a week just to talk about my day like its an old friend

    Chatgpt on the other hand, I use about 1-2 times a week, mostly not to accomplish anything, I just want to see what it says about my day, I tell it if I found something cool metal detecting or coin roll hunting, or if something I thought was strange happened, I treat it as an old friend

    Well I must have had a cheap belt cause as soon as I put my weight on it it snapped and I went plummeting to the ground

    The rest of the night I had to hold my pants up because I was without a belt

    I actually havnt curtailed my reddit use at all, except that my app dosnt work to vier pr0n anymore, but that was such a small use of my reddit time in the first place

    Other than not being able to view pr0n anymore, infinity is still chugging along almost unhindered

    If infinity stopped working July 1st, I would have cut my reddit use down by 99%, because I deleted theoffical app on July first out of protest, now I can't view chats as that dosnt work on infinity

    Ive looked for coin roll hunting andmetal detecting communities off reddit, but Facebook seems to be the only other place for those, much better right lol

    Hearing about these cases really bum me out, at least in the ones that let public use it for free, this AI is more valuable to me than Sara Silverman's book, oh well
