Any food with with a focus on onions is immediately off putting so I also avoid any dish that lists onions as a main ingredient.
If I can't taste the onions though, it's not a problem and I can eat them. So in short, I absolutely agree with you.

On that note, I hope all the main music is pulled from the games. They can do new versions or even new songs inspired by the games, as long as that connection is there. The Mario movie had such awful choices in pop music that never should've made it into the final version, and I have no doubt that was a decision made by Illumination.

With Nintendo being the main financer this is definitely going to be Miyamoto's vision. The question is if that vision will resonate with fans of the series.
I'm cautiously optimistic myself. I need to see more, but I really do want it to be good. Though I doubt we'll get any more information anytime soon.
I do wonder if they'll adapt an existing game or write a new story for the film. What they choose as their base is gonna affect everything from casting to the atmosphere and lighting.

Comment on ‘Blue Beetle’: How grassroots backers are trying to boost the Latino-led superhero movie in ~movies

Though I do identify as Hispanic, he quickly became one of my favorite characters because of his story and character, and him having a relatable background to me was a bonus.
I haven't really seen him in anything since though, which is huge shame. Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention, but the character deserves better. When I heard they were doing a Blue Beetle movie, well, I thought it would be dead in the water. That it's releasing at all is good, but it needs to actually be a great movie too to have any significant impact.
All that to say, I don't know if I'm going too see it in theaters or not. I want it to be good, I want to see more Jaime Reyes, and I want to see more Latino representation as a whole, but I just don't see how this film enables that if they lean on established superhero tropes. I have to ask if this film is worth my dollar and I just don't know. The characters seem fun, but the CGI looks questionable and the story looks predictable.
Even without the strike though, I wonder just how well they would market this film. Sure the actors would definitely help, but I think to how Disney had such little faith in Coco that they stuck a 20 minute Frozen "short" before the film to try and draw in a crowd.
Then they removed it because it turned out people wanted to see Coco. Point is, these companies don't cater to Latinos because they think it won't appeal outside of the demographic. Like the article mentioned, this is a lot of pressure to put on what's supposed to be a fun superhero film, to the point that it's really unfair. Outside of being an absolute smashing success, I just don't see how Blue Beetle manages to break those barriers. -

Then there are questions about you and your past, if you've struggled with your own trauma, and what you even really want out of these encounters, especially since you're not even finishing. Things like your habits and how often you drive past the house could also affect your thinking and urges.
So, like others have said, therapy, if you aren't already talking to someone, could be a good option for you. Someone who can help you unpack, you. But in the meantime, I would suggest to go out of your way to avoid that house. I understand it's close, and it may be impossible depending on your schedule and city layout, but give yourself some extra time to drive the long way. Go a scenic route, try to keep some distance basically.
It's so easy to think "Well I'm already here, may as well." so give yourself the space you need so you don't give those most difficult thoughts a chance to pop up.

So instead, I'm gonna turn the focus away from story heavy games to an older game that's almost fully focused on gameplay. In fact, this is the game that got me into turn based RPGs as a kid, and what I think might be worth a try if you haven't already, is the original Paper Mario. I don't know if you have any Nintendo systems or means to play it, but I found the design so fun back then, and so fascinating now.
Yes, it is turn based. The numbers in combat are small and rarely go over 10. The premise is simple and the story is predictable. But it is still one of my favorite RPGs to date. It takes the basics of turn based combat and layers many systems over it to keep players engaged.
The biggest thing is that it implements a system called action commands, so while you are still going to take turns attacking and taking damage, you have agency every time something happens. If you press the A button right before you land a jump attack, you get a second jump attack for free. If you press the A button right before you take damage, you can lower the damage taken by 1. And as you keep playing, new timings and commands are introduced, and enemies will start mixing things up to keep you on your toes.
Since you're having a hard time being engaged with the core combat of modern turn based RPGs, I think Paper Mario can offer a different perspective and show these same basic mechanics in a different light, and maybe you could walk away with a new appreciation for turn based games in general. And while the story may not draw you in like Divinity, it still offers a charming look at a world you may be familiar with, but may not have engaged with.
Of course, there is no true simple solution here, and if the game doesn't sound interesting to you either, well that's fine too, but if you're open and able to I think it's well worth the time.

Sure people can mod and emulate and get things working, but that's a lot of extra effort for the people who just want to play Nintendo games anyways.
Personally I don't know if Valve even wants to be an alternative. They've always been friendly with Nintendo, and the recent Dolphin story shows that Valve is proactive about being on Nintendo's good side. Perhaps they're hoping to one day strike a deal to have Nintendo titles on Steam, but however likely (or unlikely) that may be it seems to be a priority for Valve. Though of course if that does ever happen, the Deck would actually become an alternative to the Switch, so that really only happens in a world where Nintendo leaves the handheld concept behind.

Comment on PS5 and Xbox Series closing in on three years of use in ~games

I think Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is one of the most varied and interesting PS5 titles, that is actually trying to be a PS5 game. Like Wolf said, many games are still being made with PS4 in mind, and that shows in the PS5 releases.
Another issue I have is with big budget titles in general. Because they're so expensive, they try to appeal to as many people as possible, which means more interesting designs, mechanics, or art styles are often scrapped. So many AAA games just look the same to me. Mocap'd characters that look like they could be swapped around freely and some mostly generic writing and mechanics that I've seen better utilized in small budget games.
Overall the games that PS5 would play best don't interest me as much as I hoped they would when I picked it up.

Comment on I'm generally confused about dating women in ~life.men

I myself don't think that dooms you, but I do think it means that you lack flexibility.
Sometimes things just won't go your way, both in and out of relationships, but that's life. If you only want to date to get to being soulmates, like others have said, that's a lot of pressure on both you and the woman you're dating. Do you feel like you have to be a potential soulmate anytime you're on a date? Do you feel like you can be yourself on dates? Do you think your dates can sense how much pressure you're putting on them? If a date does anything that's not what you envision from a soulmate, does that mean it's time to move on? Do you find you have a lot of dealbreakers when on dates? These are questions you might want to ask yourself while on a date, and maybe the answers you have can put things in perspective a bit.
Of course I don't mean to imply that dealbreakers are a bad thing; it's good to have solid boundaries. But if everything is a boundary then your partner will feel like the relationship is more work than anything else.
Ultimately, my advice is to take it one date at a time. Jumping too far forward will scare people away because they won't think the relationship will be worth their time, and I think this is the flexibility that your outlook is missing.
Bungie is willing to give up everything that made them a great and unique studio to keep their independance. While it's insane that Sony managed to include a clause that just lets them dissolve the board, the end result is a management team that has no respect for the people doing the actual work.
And since there's no money to be made in dissolving the board, management will run the company into the ground before they give up control. It sounds like they aren't even trying to win back employee trust, and I'm sure it's because they have even more cuts planned.
An all around terrible situation for the people who love Bungie, both employees and players.
