I’ve used my Sony whx-1000xm3 for 7-8 years now, still work great. The plastic is breaking now but I refuse to get new ones and have ziptied them back together. When I’m playing pc, I plug them into a mic and turn them on to get the noise cancelling. When just listening to music or whatever the Bluetooth works great. Would recommend because they’re on the 7th gen now or whatever and you can probably find a good deal on the older ones.

A lot of environmental scientists remain unbiased regardless of politics in USA. Unless you’re looking for research on climate technologies or policy, you’ll still find plenty of non-trump influenced science from the USA. Just because he’s gutting our programs doesn’t mean the people are changing their science. (I work in the environmental field, a lot of people hate him here).

Not sure where your from, but most states have universities with environmental/agriculturual extensions with youtube lectures and videos about local ecosystems or plant communities.

Makes sense now why the game is so boring but always has pictures. Also I highly doubt the “voluntarily” submitting part.

Good luck! Also pallets are typically treated, sometimes heat treated, sometimes chemically. But you should be able to find them free if you look hard enough.

We even use 6x6s for the deeper, more notorious spots. Just make sure to measure out how far you need to cross. We generally use 6 or 8 feet boards on top of the 4x4/6x6.

Land trusts are preserves run by non-profits, usually open to public but sometimes they close off preserves to… preserve them. There’s plenty here in my area run by numerous organizations. My organization is relatively large and has a few preserves spread around the region. There’s some really cool land trusts too! And the people working for them are generally really passionate for ecology and wildlife, so if you ever encounter them they might give you the contagious obsession of looking at plants more than generalizing it as “green”.

But yes, I’m still in the rat race paying for rent and all, but im at least doing something fulfilling. I have two grumpy old men as my coworkers that are slowly warming up to me.

I feel blessed to be able to be outside all day, I use a lot of power tools and noisy stuff, but they bought me Bluetooth ear protection so I’ve been enjoying a lot of audiobooks. I am getting experience using all kinds of equipment (or toys some might say), and I get to stare at bugs and plants and birds….
The cons are a 50 minute commute and I have to get up at 5 am (and again, I make less than $50k), but it’s worth it to me to be able to pull into the preserve and be able to call it my office.

Yeah... My stance anymore is the only solution is civilization/societal collapse that forces us to resort to pre-industrial revolution ways of existing. The industrial revolution has been the catalyst for so many of these environmental issues that it's hard not to see it as nefarious anymore. All in the name of advancing... science? Technology? What are we exactly working towards with our space-ships and faster cars? To break records and feed our ego & human hubris. The only thing left anymore to do is to basically be an observer of the mass extinction to come because we can't even decide if we should be vegans or vegetarians without a large debate.
The longer I pay attention to politics, the more I realize that it's just people arguing until we're all drowning and not actually fixing the problem lol. You won't get people to do choice-fully do all of these eco-friendly things because it's not fun or comfortable or whatever people need to feel fulfilled. We've lost touch with reality, aka Gaeia or Mother Nature, and have filled it with Technocracy and worshipping the computer.
