I do think it was right to change things up this season, but I think that Sam has his place in the ecosystem.

That said, here's some things he said:
It isn't just dark New York streets.
My initial concerns were that it wouldn't feel like Control... but it did still feel like Control.
I've only experienced small and disjointed sections of the game.
Navigating the environments is a highlight in this game.
I have faith that they have the chops to pull this off.I can't talk you into optimism, but nothing there seemed like he was cynical about how it was going to go? His points of negativity were in regards to systems he didn't have full access to, like the story and the upgrade trees. But I suppose we'll see in a couple of months.

Unless there has been some recent big shake ups behind the scenes, I don't think their writing will be worse than in the past.

I want to take a moment to appreciate how much the understanding and treatment of cancer has advanced in the last 30 years. Cancers that used to be life-altering or -ending can be managed with medication or treated non-invasively. In a world where so many things are bad or hard it can be difficult to see and appreciate the positive changes. But this one will improve so many lives.

I believe Thompson engaged in actions that were entirely legal. But saying that he didn't break the law and so that's the end of the story is missing the point.

The basis for vigilante violence is situations where the government, who normally maintains a monopoly on violence, is perceived to be incapable or uninterested in resolving the fundamental concerns of the populace. Note I'm not defending it, just talking about the situations in which it is likely to emerge. Within that framework, what other basis is there for vigilantism but outrage so severe that someone who feels there's no other way to resolve their issue and is moved to violence? As such, trying to frame some vigilante action as legitimate or illegitimate is entirely missing the point.
Please note: I'm not saying it's right or good. Only that it's a reaction to situations where it's believed that there are no other options for redress.

Much of the rest of the infrastructure is simultaneously too vulnerable and too cheap to bother with higher value defenses. Remember when people were shooting at transformers? For sabotage a drone is more expensive than a bullet and less effective than a hacking campaign. For war, sure you need machine guns and electronic warfare. But you can't cover everything at a price anyone is willing to pay.

Part of the arc of Tildes' history was that there came a point where wasn't enough money to pay for Deimos to do further development and he needed to make a living. With that, the theories of scalable self-moderation were set aside, and without that it never became open to the public.

So... because Texas is one of the largest states, a trait that is evenly distributed among the population has a higher absolute value there? Shocked. Shocked I tell you. Of course Texas has the second most LGBTQ+ people after California, it has the second most people after California.
Regardless of how banal the actual statistics are, it's helpful to remind people that they're not alone. Even in places where persecution is so unrelenting, the people are still there.
