It takes larger subreddits, which necessarily need larger mod teams to handle the work flow, a much longer amount of time to come to decisions than smaller subreddits.

The mods of the smaller subreddits didn't seem to understand this at all, and thought that everyone would join them immediately, and some still think that anyone not joining them is just because of powermods trying to control the whole thing.

I played sports from elementary school through high school, mainly baseball and soccer. In high school I played varsity and travel soccer, and was a referee my senior year.

I took a weightlifting class in high school and my first semester of college.

I don't play sports anymore, but I run and lift weights regularly.

My biggest interest is barefoot/minimalist running. I wear the dorky vibram fivefingers shoes to run. The sole is about 6mm of rubber, but I like being able to feel the ground, and it forces me to be mindful of my stride.

I've been wondering something similar, especially given the large scale "social experiment"/exercise in white fragility that I pulled recently over on Reddit. Obviously someone running around the room screaming "n*gger" is not participating in good faith; they're just looking to get some kind of reaction. It's possible that they're also racist, but much of the time they're merely yelling the worst word they know because they don't know how else to get someone to respond to them. But how much space should someone who genuinely believes those things be given?

One thing that I would really like to see is a wiki or something similar debunking or explaining away most of the racist myths that are commonly seen. Something that address racial IQ, crime statistics, and some of the other typical talking points all in one place would be nice to have to so that I could point to something when people try to bring these up.

The main drawback I see is that Tildes, like Imzy, lacks a score tally (karma). On Reddit, karma is one of the big motivators for posting. Obviously it's not the only motivator, but it's one of them.

Without more motivation to contribute content, I don't think Tildes stands a chance at successfully competing with Reddit. Maybe Deimos/Deimorz has some ideas for that, it's not my area of expertise.

At least a few, if not more. The Nixon investigation took longer than this, and 48 people were indicted.
