Suggesting a treatment that isn't effective in 95% of people (most diets and programs) is unethical in my opinion.

People seemed to have responded positively to a previous comment you made on this topic. While I’m personally skeptical about aliens visiting Earth and the US government successfully hiding it, your discussion about the idea of an office working in complete secrecy even from Congress was very interesting. I don’t know much about how US government offices work so hearing about how big of a scandal this would be if true – regardless of aliens – was very informing.

Ignoring aliens, increasing oversight on the DoD and similar government organizations seems like a good thing. I remember articles about the Pentagon telling Congress to stop giving them money for tanks and other equipment they don’t need and other articles about them just losing track of hundred of millions of dollars. If there is such a large amount of money available they don’t need/want and can be lost track of, I could completely imagine some department spending excess money on whatever without too much concern for oversight.

Frankly, I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts after the hearing but I completely understand your frustration.

A great resource I point beginners to is thefitness.wiki created by /r/fitness and /r/weightroom. It has a lot of recommended routines for people who are beginning their fitness journey and intermediate routines for others. It also talks about diet, strength training, cardio, and has a great FAQ.

I’ll also mention Stronger By Science which is a fantastic resource for exercise and health science. For routines, I’m currently doing GZCL which has already been mentioned by others in this thread.

Greek yogurt or skyr can be incredibly healthy. A breakfast I frequently make is 1-1.5 cups of of non-fat, unsweetened Greek yogurt (120-180 cal, 21-32g protein) and 0.5-1 scoops of a flavored protein powder (50-100 cal, 12-25g protein). Then, I throw in some mix-ins like a cup of frozen blueberries (80 cal, 6g fiber) and 0.25 cups of oats (95 cal, 3g protein, 2.5g fiber). Sometimes, I want some crunch so I’ll throw in about 0.5 cups of a high protein cereal like Catalina Crunch (110 cal, 11g protein, 9g fiber) instead of oats. (And for good measure, I’ll throw in my scoop of creatine to help my weightlifting.)

This gives me a breakfast that’s around 345-470 calories with 36-68g of protein and 8.5-15g of fiber.

(I sent that message about 15 minutes before I had a surgery. I wasn’t feeling particularly great with the dehydration and hunger so hopefully that explains why my intent didn’t come across super well!)

    From Nate Silver, https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/jill-stein-democratic-spoiler-or-scapegoat/ https://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-WB-66593...

    From Nate Silver,

And the rub is Pennsylvania, which was close but not that close. You have to assume that almost all of Stein’s voters would have gone to Clinton. But both pre-election polls and the national exit poll suggests that a lot of them wouldn’t have voted at all, if they’d been forced to pick between the two major candidates.

    https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/jill-stein-democratic-spoiler-or-scapegoat/

[A Wall Street Journal] analysis, in which third-party votes [in eight swing states] were reassigned to both Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton, finds that Mrs. Clinton would have needed to win 70% of the vote share that went to the Libertarian and Green parties across all eight states to claim victory….In another scenario, even if every one of Ms. Stein's left-leaning supporters is assigned to Mrs. Clinton in those same eight states, she still would have needed to win more than 50% of Mr. Johnson's supporters to flip enough states to win the election.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-WB-66593

that’s what exit polling that asked people how they would have voted in a two-party race — with the third option of not voting — finds. Under that scenario she would have won Michigan, still lost Florida, and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania would have been a 48 to 48 percent toss-up. Clinton would have needed to win both of those states to reach 270 electoral votes. So even in the artificial world of that exit poll that erased Stein and Johnson, Clinton seemed likely to lose.

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/11/11/13576798/jill-stein-third-party-donald-trump-win

As an aside, blaming third party voters for electoral losses always seems wrong to me. You’re blaming people engaged enough to participate in the system. People voting is a good thing! If you want to “blame” anyone, you could blame non-voters but perhaps we should try to convert them to voters instead of blaming them too

If you right click > inspect element on rule 14 and keep opening the nested div’s until you get to the iframe, you can get the Google Maps embedded link. The link should include a segment that looks something like this !1d3.2375917!2d101.684043. Get rid of the !1d and replace !2d with a comma. Then, you can paste the lat-long into Google Maps to determine which country it is

I’ve played both FES and Portable. I’m super bummed about the lack of FeMC. During my play through of both, the impression I got was both characters have depression. While male MC’s depression manifested as him being relatively apathetic and uncaring about life, FeMC’s manifested as her putting on a mask and trying to hide her depression behind a friendly exterior. For me personally, this made her much more relatable as that is much more similar to how my depression presents.
