My laptop is a 2011 MBP which I've put 16GB of RAM and an SSD into. It still chugs along for any regular tasks I do on it, but the lack of software support is starting to show. For example, just recently Firefox have stopped supporting my OS.

You would be surprised how much more effective a proper window breaker is than a regular hammer. It's all about the hardness of the material and the size of the impact point.

No confusion, just following the linguistic pattern adopted with English pronouns. From using "he" to "she" as an indefinite pronoun, why not go from "Latino" to "Latina" as a default universal descriptor.

I don't think that 'she' is used as a universal descriptor in English.

If the grammatical gender has no gendered masculine or feminine connotation, why wouldn't all Latin men be content with described as "Latina" in English, derived from "persona latina?"

The difference is that calling a man "una persona latina" has no implication about him, but just calling him 'latina' is implying that he is feminine.

I also wonder why the anglicized version didn't become "latina" by default. Latinx always seemed clunky.

Masculine nouns are the default for mixed gender groups too, so if anything 'latino' should be the default term unless all members of the group are female.

I felt the same way about Mistborn. I discovered Sanderson through The Way Of Kings a couple years ago and was totally engrossed. After I finished the Stormlight Archive (what was published, anyway), I was craving more so I dove into his other works, starting with Mistborn. It felt like dropping from adult to YA fiction and I was a bit disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, same with his other stuff too, but either he has improved over time (to my tastes) or I started to pick apart his style.

How old are children starting school in the UK? Four or five or so? It seems unbelievable that a quarter of kids that age could still not be toilet trained.

That seems to do a reasonable job off keeping that kind of stuff out of sight and off my feeds.

In Australia, there is typically a surcharge for paying by card, so cash is always the cheapest option.

But in turn, people who currently have access to banking in theory enjoy slightly lower prices at places that go cashless

A few months ago I started learning violin with no prior experience. I spent a while looking for a teacher who was willing to take on an adult beginner and found someone who is absolutely amazing, which very much helps because (as I became aware after starting this journey) the violin is a tricky instrument to learn.
