With Coachella getting festival season underway, and the YouTube steams of it I've enjoyed the performances of:
The xx, Moby, The Strokes, David Byrne, Nine Inch Noize, Wet Leg, TOMORA.

I'd like to recommend watching the Nine Inch Noize set this weekend, or finding a replay of last weeks. The atmosphere of the staging, and its scale, is well worth experiencing.

David Byrne's performance is also a thoughtful and interesting production.
You may have seen many of the newer songs from it on his recent TinyDesk.

Lastly I want to mention TOMORA. It's a collaboration between Aurora and half of The Chemical Brothers. It looks and sounds as you'd expect, which I find fantastic.
My first exposure to Aurora was a Glastonbury set, that was fuelled by a live band rather than the softer tones of her studio music. So coming together with Tom from the chemical brothers is a fun leap back towards a great festival experience.

Preface: I don't really bother with tech websites, as they're just an endless wave of fluff and internal links, so finding out what's truly novel or an interesting improvement is a bit of self inflicted pain, but whatever.

I saw Hyundai has got Boston Dynamics to create an enterprise ready version of electric Atlas, with quite a simple looking design. I assume they're currently aiming for work on production lines.
It's quite strange that humanoid robotics is stepping out of sci-fi, and making an entrance into the modern world, along with all the issues it'll bring.

The Nvidia strobing backlight seems to be harking back to CRT rolling displays, using a coarse array of rows, to eliminate image persistence/smearing.
Apparently the minimum FPS that it works at currently is 75hz, which is fine for a lot of modern gaming. But I wonder if this tech could be improved, without causing headaches for sensitive people or pets, so that TV and films could benefit from it as well.
The visual clarity would be worth it.

The click communicator does look like a breath of fresh air in phone design, with many hardware features that others have sadly decided to forget. It'll be interesting to see if people find it enjoyable to use as a primary device, and if apps display on it without feeling cramped. Hopefully it sells well, and the support for it is respectable.

I haven't caught up on the TV side. MicroLED news is welcome, it's been a good few years of manufacturing improvements to get this far. Having a normal display sized panel would be excellent.

I saw a video of an electroluminescent QD display at previous CES, which was very interesting, but would still suffer from high energy decay in the blue channel.

Yeah. I've received numerous emails about adding a 3rd party web search component to my extension. It only has a small install base across browsers, but has the featured badge on the Chrome Web Store.

Their lack of current experience at managing this has been showing since the summer break. And of course for Red Bull it's just business as usual, as Max reels them in.

Very pleased to see Williams doing well again.

Ferrari probably can't wait for the season to end. Given that they shifted focus early, I hope no heads roll during the winter break. But the pressure must be immense.

I would imagine that the click farms have plenty of spare capacity to run a scraper process in the background. And that would be easier to sell access to than the alternative.

My brother's school library had computer magazines, and on one of the discs that he brought home was a copy of Cinema 4D 5.2 SE (I think that was the version).
And it was a lot of fun, or potential fun because I didn't have any documentation, and I doubt I really had the patience for that.
This scene is probably the best I could achieve at the time.
I made all of the models.
The bin is clearly just a default texture on a cylinder.
I remember using boolean operations to cut out the solitaire board, and yet I left all the holes filled with marbles.
It's a pity that getting a good looking liquid was too tricky for me.
The little toys on the bottom shelf were fun things that I would go on to use in other renders and animations.

    I can also offer you:
