In win/lin I can set the taskbar to display an icon for each separate window, so I can directly click on the one I desire. As far as I know, in the apple world this takes at least two clicks.

I have to install so much software just to make it a fraction as useful as even Windows, and that says a lot. The other "OS" i've had to futz a lot with was actually a DE, namely Gnome. Useless out of the box.
I can be most productive with either KDE or Windows (10, haven't tried 11). And I know these things are subjective and relative to what you're used to, but I think even things like "program launcher does not have ability to show separate icons for different app windows" make a OS objectively less productive.

It lacks most of what makes the original so highly enjoyable: the actors are very lacklusting and one dimensional, they took out all the fun and abadoned the "show, don't tell" approach for a "tell, don't show" one. And of course, being Netflix they couldn't resist making Katara a "Mary Sue" character.

Can you flesh out tactical orders before the battles, or do you have to manually go to each unit and tell them "attack here, retreat there"?

I've tried hundreds of searches (variations of this) on google and either I have no idea what to search for, or it doesn't exist.
I'll keep it short, the best way to explain is that I'm looking for a game in the style of the Total War franchise, but focused (mostly) on the top down battle view:
I'm not that interested in manually managing tens of regions, I don't want to 3d my way through a battle front while the soldiers gore eachother, I just want to focus on being a general that wins battles through tactics. Where I can apply strategies like Oblique Formation and False Gap to outmaneuver my enemies.
Do you have any recommendations for me? Is there any game that even comes close to this? (apart from the Total War franchise - which I love by the way, but the games tend to last too long, and they're getting bigger and bigger with each release)

bolundxis I don't understand this comparison, I've been to a lot of countries in Europe and all of them had very diverse types of beer, while most beers in America are pretty similar in taste.Unlike the US, Europe doesn't have 50 different tabs of beer to choose from lol. It's either light (pilsner) or dark (stout) beer in 90% of places, that's it

As an amateur photographer, I'm looking for recommendations to improve my process for reviewing and selecting the best photos from my albums.
Currently, it goes something like this:
- (after I copy the photos to my PC) I open the folder containing the album
- I open the first photo and start looking at the pictures using the default photo viewing app
- I note mentally, on paper, or in a digital notepad the names of the files that I like the most
- manually select the files that I noted down
My ideal workflow would be something like:
- open the folder, open first photo, look through them all
- each time I see a picture that I like, hit space or some other simple shortcut, which adds the picture to the current selection
- after I am done viewing, I have all the files that I want already selected to do with as I please
I have tried multiple apps over the years but I haven't come across anything that had something similar, or I was too stupid to figure out how to do it. The workflow I described is using windows/linux, on macOS it's even more cumbersome (since one needs to select all photos in a folder before previewing them).
Do you have any recommendations for an app that has functionality like this, or if not, on how I can make my workflow better?
Thanks

Hmmm, not in my region, no. Just "eggplant salad", sometimes even "eggplants".
I just love how regions that are nearby neighbors end up having similar recipes that play off of each other, with their own unique substitutions based on local preferences!

Serve as a spread over fresh bread, goes wonderfully with tomatoes.
ETA: just remembered about zacusca and its variations.
