Absolutely. This gets me every time I have a full screen app on a monitor and want to drag another app over to that same monitor. It doesn't fail intuitively and instead the window you're dragging will just stop in it's tracks at the border. So you have to know to switch the desktop off of the full screen app first before you drag another window over to that monitor.

I graduated with a Management Information Systems degree in 2012 and this is based almost entirely on my own personal experience. Others might disagree based on their own experience, so it would definitely be worth getting a second opinion. That said...

I think success with a CIS degree largely depends on taking internships while you're in school. Because the degree isn't specialized, I feel like you're left short on technical skills that could land you a decent tech job, like junior developer or the education needed for specialized business roles. My goal after college had been to land a Business Analyst role, eventually working my way into Project Management. While I was taking courses, I thought this was a realistic career path, but after college I couldn't even get a call back for Business Analyst positions. Eventually, I was able to land a technical support role and have been able to work up to a fairly successful career since, but I credit that more to my own interest and technical skill than I do the degree.

Personally, I've always regretted not getting a CS degree, but I'm also very interested in those topics. I don't know that I could actually recommend it if you're not into it. I've also regretted not seeking out internships in school, since I really do think that would have made a difference when starting out in my career after graduation.

So yeah, I wouldn't say a CIS degree is a bad idea, but I would definitely recommend trying to get internships for companies and roles that interest you so that you can get real world experience in addition to the degree.

I almost never reheat my food. If I'm going eat leftovers, I'll just eat them cold, nearly 100% of the time. This has been going on since childhood and it drives my wife crazy.

I think the "very important keys" comment was about this: That's certainly straying from the standard 70% layout.

But its most striking feature is what it leaves out — Escape, Control, and Option keys are all missing. That design choice feels intentional.

I also found SystemCrafters' Emacs from Scratch series quite helpful.

Then, instead of Doom/Evil, you could go with something like Crafted Emacs, which is basically a configuration you can drop into vanilla Emacs and have some useful packages and "saner" defaults right out of the gate.

This isn't particularly insightful, but from FBI.gov: I wonder if fleeing the country increases your chances of making it on the list, though.

This isn't particularly insightful, but from FBI.gov:

Who actually decides which fugitives go on the list?
The Criminal Investigative Division (CID) at FBI Headquarters calls upon all 55 Field Offices to submit candidates for the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list. The nominees received are reviewed by Special Agents in the CID and the Office of Public Affairs. The selection of the “proposed” candidate(s) is then forwarded to FBI Executive Management for final approval.

On what criteria is that decision made?
First, the individual must have a lengthy record of committing serious crimes and/or be considered a particularly dangerous menace to society due to current criminal charges.
Second, it must be believed that the nationwide publicity afforded by the program can be of assistance in apprehending the fugitive, who, in turn, should not already be notorious due to other publicity.

I wonder if fleeing the country increases your chances of making it on the list, though.

I absolutely love my Framework and would recommend it with a couple of caveats:

    • The build quality is fine, but not great, at least compared to MacBooks and Lenovos. It doesn't bother me personally, but it is noticeable if you're switching between the two.
    • The battery life isn't great. Again, not an issue for me, and I've read various things about how to improve it, but I probably get somewhere around 4-6 hours of screen on time between charges, depending on what I'm doing.

All said though, their support team is fantastic and I really love what they're trying to do. Other than those two caveats, the Framework really is a great machine, especially if you're running Linux.

Edit: Probably worth mentioning my experience is with an older Intel model. I believe you'll get much better battery life with the newer AMD models, but I haven't actually looked into that.

I love these kinds of threads, not because I'm particularly proud of my setup, but because it gives me ideas for how to improve it. Mine's rather simple:

    • Desk from Wayfair (couldn't find the exact desk, but it's an L-shape with some drawers and shelves.
    • 3 monitors - 1x32" 4K in the center, then 2x24" monitors rotated vertically. All monitors are on a mount, some are duct-taped because I inherited them.
    • CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock
    • Work computer - Macbook Pro M2
    • Personal computer - Framework laptop 13 running Fedora
    • Pok3r RGB keyboard; Logitech MX Master mouse
    • One side of my desk has some 3M glossy material stuck on the surfact that is designed to use as a whiteboard (when junk isn't cluttering that area).
    • Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920

I'm lucky enough to live in a 3-bedroom house with my wife but without kids (we both work remote), so my "office" closet is filled with repurposed computers. Basically, just personal pet projects, like a Plex Server and other self-hosted alternatives that I'm trying out at any given time.
