I really enjoyed it and I think about it all the time. But I always have issues summarizing it without giving it away or creating a false sense of what to expect from the story.

However, the game didn’t even feel like it was worth playing until you fully unlock the mirror.

My one gripe with the game is that the, arguably, most interesting class is damn near impossible to win with, Arcane Blade. I think this is one of the things that pushes newbies to the game away from it. No one wants to play barbarian first play-through and they see AB and think “hell yeah that sounds awesome” only to die off early mid game.

Pick it up. It won’t let you down.

Without sounding too much of a Fiio shill here. I 100% stand behind their products. They have several different products that might fit your bill depending on budget. Of course the most popular are probably the BTR5 and BTR7 which are DACs that can also work as a Bluetooth “adapter” which acts as a DAC while connecting to your phone via Bluetooth or usb-C passthrough.

They also have the KA1 which is a super tiny usb-C dac. Cheaper, smaller, just a little less versatile.

If you just want a super cheap dongle then I’d go with Venture Electronics Abigail. It’s decent. You get what you pay for but it’s really not that bad. I keep a pair of their Monk ear buds and that DAC in my travel bag because for the price I don’t care if anything happens to them but they sound good enough for me to keep on hand

As for the HD-600's I'm not exactly sure I would recommend them for gaming unless its strictly PC gaming with a DAC/AMP as they aren't the easiest headphones to drive. The Sennheiser HD 598's are probably a better choice. While they aren't as accurate, marginally, they are more comfortable (longer gaming sessions), cheaper, and easier to drive.

The Beggar Lover (Three) is one hell of a track to listen to with a nice set of headphones. I don't even really know how to explain how it made me feel. I get GY!BE, mixed with Justice, mixed with.. well, lets just say there's a certain area that made me feel very uncomfortable like the first time entering Deepnest in Hollow Knight.

The album as a whole is a bit hard to rate for me. I will certainly come back to it but not sure it will be part of my rotation.

I really cannot get enough of this album. Math-rocky pop punk without sounding like math-rock, if that makes any sense. Instead of the overly structured and twinkly guitars that you may think of when you think of the genre, this is a bit more subdued.

I don't want to oversell the release but I think it could be a good stepping stool for people to get into more math rock heavy bands.

I can see the parallels to poetry but I think I must have interpreted the nuances differently. I took the chances of place, time, vehicle ect as simply irrelevant information (it’s been a while since I’ve read this) and took it as, here is a story, the details are meaningless.

Sort of like taking the basis of a story and throwing just anything at the template. Much like a superhero movie where the powers, city, ect all fit the same formula of good guy beats bad guy

Yes. Sorry about that. I was referring to Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic.

The two are different from later entries as far as story telling goes. But they hold a special place in my heart. The dynamic between the two main characters is my favorite in the series.

My comment was more aimed at the widely held belief that the first two books are lesser and can be skipped entirely

I always see this suggestion to start with Mort or Guards and how the first two books can be skipped. Of course there are different ways to read the series, but I think the first two books are fantastic and a great place to start. They are a mini epic of two “friends”.

I know these 2 early entries are a bit divisive, but they are fairly easy to get into and, in my opinion, a fine place to start. It also makes jumping into such a large serious a bit less confusing for those trying to get into it.

While I enjoyed House of Leaves. I much preferred Only Revolutions. The concept is a bit easier to understand. Read 8 or so pages. Flip the book over and read the “last” 8 or so pages. Repeat

Just beat Lone Fungus. Was a fantastic little Hollow Knight-like Metroidvania. 95% of the game was perfect. Even the challenging platforming areas were enjoyable.

The 5% that wasn’t was one of the endings paths. And several of the optional platforming areas where you could try the same thing 19 times, but on the 20th the levels timing would be off and something that worked every other attempt now wasn’t good enough. This was the most frustrating part for me and only applied in a few places. Besides that the game really held off the Silksong itch for a little bit

I used to be a big Solarized fan but lately it just feels off. Sure Nord doesn’t have as many colors, and maybe that’s why I prefer it. Clean, simple and effective.

I would love for Nord to one day be an option, but for now Atom One Dark will do

I forgot to mention in my original post, but there’s an aspect I really liked where sometimes losing to a boss will still progress the story. In the end the there’s only one ending but the way you get there can vary from game to game.
