For example, say I have an extension that copies all the tab URLs of my session, if I only run that in a dedicated Chrome/Firefox profile and nowhere else (and for that extension only), then my other profiles and sessions are not gleaned. Some data might be exfiltrated like the aforementioned tab URLs, but I can live with that. If I had all my browsing in one profile/session that means everything is up for grabs. This is why I assume any untrusted addon can glean details about my browser & session, so I dedicate profiles to extensions I don't trust.

The high IMHO is too short lasting to be of any worth, and it's just a giddy 1 minute rush. So there is potential for people OD'ing on them since the high is so short-lasting. Buyer beware.

30 minutes on Google and you can find many sites and articles like it which detail privacy-aware and open source alternatives to common closed & proprietary tools/utilities. Just pick the tools you would like to use from the PrivacyTools site, and then check the site infrequently (like every year or so) and you're good. Just don't count on it being still there in a year however.

It took about 30 minutes to code up, and it basically scans the page for URLs, and then opens them in a bunch of tabs using the window.open() method.
I wrote it so I could read random articles without having to make the decision (should I click this?). Because the 'should I click?' question is often loaded with subconscious bias and prevents me from opening the link. It's strange because once the article is open in my tabstrip it encourages me to read it.

Twitter has become so tightly ingrained in the culture of the world that I can't imagine a world without it. It's the hive-mind of our busy hyper-connected world.

Comment on Using a VPN may make you less secure in ~tech
jordan I also like this little writeup about why you shouldn't use VPNs: https://gist.github.com/joepie91/5a9909939e6ce7d09e29I also like this little writeup about why you shouldn't use VPNs:
I remember app.net in its heyday (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/App.net) and whilst novel and a refreshing alternative to Twitter, it eventually collapsed due to lack of revenue or recurring subscriptions. See the Wikipedia article:
This is the age old problem.
