And there's a huge discussion going on over a ton of Lemmy instances about FOSS. I don't know, I feel like Lemmy was pitched as a true reddit alternative, but the people that actually went were mostly the FOSS-enthousiasts. Which is fine, but there's a vocal part that tends to hammer anyone who doesn't share the same viewpoints. As a very irregular Lemmy user, the comments almost feel like the worst of reddit. To me it looks like they're really shooting themselves in the foot: if they really want a new reddit they need a growing userbase, not just the open source guys.

I'm glad they've been expanding their income with other products, but it always feels like they're financially not as secure as I'd want to go all in on their stuff.

In my opinion the anime is not only true to the manga, it's a very good adaptation: it captures the atmosphere and the characters really well. That being said, I'm also considering re-reading the manga when the anime ends...

While there wasn't super much to get me hyped up, there were definitely a bunch of cool games in there. I'm definitely gonna try the Kirby one, and the new AC:NH trailer got me all excited!...

Regardless of games, I really think the Nintendo Directs are such a good format. Very few downtime, no unnecessarily long segments, just a good filmroll of new games. Absolutely lovely every time.

Carefully excited for Ashes of Creation and Crowfall.

I love MMORPGs, but there's so few good ones (i.e. not riddled with p2w microtransactions) on the market right now. At this moment, your only real options are WoW, FFXIV, ESO and GW2.

Now, I couldn't really get into WoW and FFXIV after trying GW2. A new MMO to explore would be welcome, and these two at least look promising!

(and animal crossing for the switch Nintendo plz)

Anyways, I think twitch is too popular to get people to move to a different service. I'm not really happy with how twitch is run, but I also don't trust valve to do much better. :^)

For coding (I mostly write python and web stuff) I use VS code, which has been an absolute joy. I came from atom, and VS code's been so responsive (comparatively) and it looks really nice. Think I'm using a material dark theme. For coding I use the plugins for the language I'm using, everything has been very well supported.

I know it's been a month since you posted this - I switched to AniList when MAL went down and it's been a pleasure. I don't really mind which one I use, but AniList looks real nice and it telling you what anime you're not up to date on is quite useful. And it also works with Taiga and Tachiyomi, so I'm happy with my pick :-)
