I've got a 4K laptop and my SO has a surface book. Frankly, the surface looks much better for a lot of stuff.

That said, I really do find that just having the extra desktop real-estate is very useful for productivity on a high-res screen, so long as you've got good vision. Since you're a Linux user you should be able to find plenty of utilities to divvy up your screen, but even in windows the WIN+arrow combination works pretty good to tile things.

For example, if you were interesting in any sort of books, subscribe to ~books and see posts from ~books.comics ~books.fiction ~books.nonfiction, but the individual subs wouldn't see each other. Continue on to ~books.comics.anime etc etc?

Or alternately, would it be more like the old newsgroups style alt.binaries.books.comics where it's just categorization?

I was already enamoured with the FF series before FFVI came out, starting with the original on NES, and similarly Zelda was one of my faves on the NES as well.

However, Zelda was pretty much the reason I bought my SNES. I actually got the game before I got the console as it was pretty much always sold out locally and I just happened to run across it while out-of-town even though I didn't actually own a SNES yet.

FFVI on the other hand. It's still one of my favourite FF's, and as far as early gaming goes the breadth of the world and character development was incredible. To this day the music still haunts me, starting right away with the opening score with the magitech armor marching through the ice, and with many tunes throughout the game (there are some great remixes of them as well, i.e. on OCRemix, and yes I bought into that album when it first came out as a kickstarter).

I'm OK with gold. I'm OK with (non-malware, less intrusive) ads. I'd even imagine that they could target the ads somewhat without being too intrusive, i.e. if you're browsing threads and comparing CPU's then... maybe ads for CPU's?

There must be other ways to legitimately monetise the site without pissing off a bunch of people. RPAN seems like a neat thing recently. I was browsing and actually came across a live cast of a band which I quite enjoyed, soooo... what if they did that on a percentage basis wherein you could donate via Reddit and they get part of the "take"? Again they could tailor it to the subreddits so bands might want to choose music SR's, or maybe you're music appeals to gamers so you publish under both some music and gaming SR's, etc.
Other broadcasts could include howto's, lessons, or whatever people thing might net them some cash and Reddit a percentage.

This is an Indie dev? The modelling, motion, and polish on this is freaking amazing. Hope that I can run it on the same detail level as the demo without setting my video-card on fire!

Started awhile back with some shelves, and now I've moved to full on cabinets and drawers etc (with a few 3d printed parts for the sliders).

I'm currently working on the doors using 3.5"x1" pieces of Oak. Two vertical pieces on either size, and then a bunch of shorted panels stacked horizontally through the center. Each pieces has notches cut through the inner parts (multiple cuts /w a table saw, I really need to invest in some dado blades or whatever) and then a smaller wedge-piece in inserted into the notches and glued to keep things together nice and tight. Currently I've got the inner section glued and it's solid, with the glue setting on the outer section, plus a couple coats of stain on the lot. Should be dry and ready for lacquer by later tomorrow.

Hopefully by the end I'll have cabinets, doors, and can swap out what's currently in the kitchen.

    Your link is broken though.

From the looks up it, it will support VR but doesn't currently, so if you're looking for a beautiful virtaul-reality flight experience you might want to hold off until the supported headsets and required specs are published.
