I'm pretty sure that people in charge of TV programming don't have a real idea of the anime they're scheduling for saturday mornings. Years later, they also had complete seasons of Ruroni Kenshin in a kids program.

We can learn a lot by having computers solve the challenge of where to focus their "eyes" next or how to value tactics that are more difficult to input. It's not the same game when all information is available all at the same time and any complicated operation can be executed flawlessly every time.

And if I still do, how can I rate it less than four or five stars? It's just a useless system, it only works because people are being conditioned to put on the internet more of themselves than what they show the world by just walking down the street.

What is it that you do here, Patreon? Copy and paste code from several APIs and host it? You only have any strategic value because cryptocurrencies are presently a sad disappointment. It's not going to be like that forever.

Comment on I was wrong about Google and Facebook: There’s nothing wrong with them (so say we all) in ~tech

The other......Google and FB are not exactly the same thing in terms of the value you get for your personal data. One gives you pretty much the best search engine, web mail and maps app ever made. The other... well... they wrote some php code and now you need to be there to keep up with family and friends. And, if it's not landing them in jail, they will do it no matter any moral or legal concerns.
Honestly, even something totally vanilla like Ubuntu will scare you with weird Snap errors when using Firefox. So the primary benefit is the opportunity to learn an OS that gives you a lot more control over your computer. And with that control comes much more responsibility. All operating systems suck, but in the case of Linux, that's somehow your fault :)
On a more philosofical level, if you manage to push through it, Linux gives you the tranquility of having no planned obsolescence inevitably taking your computer from you. You're not being used to QA the next version for windows that will eventually only work on the cloud or whatever.
