I like the culture, personally - though I don't like the 'next big thing' issue very much either.
I like the pay, I'm in a city that has low CoL, and I'm in a company that is growing...so I think I'm sticking around.

During the french revolution, there were some executions that required many falls of the blade to do more than just crush the neck bone.
Not saying it isn't quick compared to what you might want to give him, just saying that even a guillotine could be quite a torturous death.

I thought that was almost impossible in modern day backyard experiments, and the best that you actually get is like...dirty brittle glass, and definitely not 'true' obsidian.
I know that in the past when people really did use obsidian and similar material for weapons, they almost always chipped it out of a larger chunk, which is why even a small handaxe is really rare - more likely to see a bunch of small stones mounted in a club.

I mean the shove from the tower likely had crows around and the heart tree of winterfell is powerful, so it's there and he probably knows about it now - but only after his transformation into the three-eyed raven (i.e. creepy-bran). Once he was the three-eyed raven, he probably realized that if he wasn't shoved out of the tower, then he wouldn't have become the three-eyed raven, so he probably doesn't give a shit.

As far as I can tell, they are almost always created because the creator was mad that reddit has rules they don't like.
Instead of being "not like reddit", tildes is trying to be "in-depth-discussion-focused" - i.e. focused on attempting to be something, instead of focused on being 'not reddit'. We don't hate reddit here, but we also don't find it sufficient for what we want.

Obviously this may play havoc with some color schemes, but I feel like I would be able to much more easily understand it if there were some visual effect like that, instead of just plain text.

Every time that you cozy up to read some more, you have this 4-6 inch tome that you need to find a comfy spot with. It also gets the "Thud Effect" and makes the whole story seem even more weighty than it already is.
ALSO, it's how Tolkien wanted to publish it initially, but no publisher would take the risk like that on some fairy tale, especially as paper was at a premium when it was first published.
I'm still trying to get through some tutorials for Godot - I'm working on writing a videogame and I'd like to be able to seriously contribute to the programming and design work as well.
I was expecting to be able to do a lot of this over the holidays, but instead my whole family got sick.
